Try to find his address in the other state, then sue him in that state's small claims court. If he promised to pay you back, you have a verbal contract. If you have friends or any who knew about the arrangement besides him or you, you may be able to get a judgment against him by using htem as a witness. |

Unless you have proof of a loan or something you are screwed. You can try and take him to court, but even if you do and by chance win, that still doesn't mean you will see a dime, so you will just be wasting more time and money. Consider it a gift and move on with your life. |

I would probably take some kind of legal action or inform one of your or his family members and maybe you will be able to get your money back. |

If you have no proof that you lent the money, then legally, no. Persist with the emails, mention it to his family, etc. |

Use it as an experience. Do not expect anything if the person is gone and not picking up the phone. Move on with your life. And think that good things happens to good people and you are one of them. Same thing happened to me. First, I got upset and then I said I thought about that saying "good things happens to good people" and now I have a better job and earning a lot of money. Don't loose your faith. Put don't lent $ to one else. |

If you have a contract, sue him. If not you're screwed. Learn from this. Never loan money to friends unless you're OK with never seeing it again. |

you should have got him to sign a document, Other than that, I believe it is: Send him an email stating that in 1 month if he hasn't replied you will go to the police, |
