get a cool adult to get a paper route or something and you do most of the work, and you get most of the money.
or
do small jobs in your area... advertise.. for instance.. flyers.. offering to cut grass, or clean yards for $$ or tell you parents that you would like to do some things around the house and earn your money.. they will be so proud they'll be throwing you money for any little thing.. just know that you are trying to be responsible will have them excited |

Here are a few ideas for jobs for kids under 14 who have no working papers:
Mow neighbors' lawns for money. Charge $10 per lawn.
Babysit neighborhood kids for $5 an hour.
Get a bunch of your friends together and do a car wash or pet wash or something like that.
House-sit for neighbors going out of town.
How about a paper route? Plenty of kids still do that, I think...
Gather together all your old toys from when you were a kid, as well as some old clothes and shoes you don't wear anymore and have a garage sale. Get your parents' permission first, though.
Do you know how to make a craft? If you do, you can make a bunch of them and sell them around the neighborhood. (I used to make quite a killing with friendship bracelets, LOL)
See if your parents would take you down to the city department of Labor and Employment. If you have your parents' signed permission, you can be granted working papers before you are 14, so then you could go get a nice job at a fast-food restaurant or something. |

OK, you have your goal. At 14 I was a self-supporting teen runaway in the dark ages B.C. (Before Computers) so I started out with a cheapo news add for tax help. Did short forms for $10 cash and longs for $20....was really simple "mud pie" math back then and there was no competitor named HR Block. No Social Security account and no records; how times fly and rape your wallet nowadays.
Needless to say I passed your goal within 30 days and financed an extended vacation in another country. Okay, you are currently young and smart and have far more technology at your fingertips than I did as I worked out my financial problems with ball point pen and government forms. Show me up, dude, I dare ya and do it legally (except for the age thing). Hell! We didn't even have Gatorade or Monster to help us out! |

I have done a ton of research to find legitimate sites that pay. I made over $850 in Feb and over $2,600 in March.

2. Create a computer virus and hold people hostage by releasing it into select systems.

Go to the homes of the elderly in your community and ask to write letters for them, clean up, and/or run errands for them.

Well you are 14 and summer is just around the corner... I know a guy that started a lawn mowing service for his block in high school.
1. Buy a cheap used lawnmower
2. Set price ($$ / Acre / Mow ; $20-$30 / acre / mow)
3. Send out fliers to neighbors (neighbors like to help each other out)
4. If there is a huge response then hire some friends
5. At the end of high school you can even sell your business (customers) to a freshman!!
Assuming that you mow every clients lawn once a week... you will only need about 4-5 clients (1acre plots) to make $1000... Do the math!!

sell a whole bunch of stuff you don't want on ebay. that's how i do it. you'd be so amazed with the crap people are willing to buy. i sold an old broken camcorder for $196.99. the people KNEW it was broken. |

Get babysitting jobs, mow lawns, yard clean-up, stuff like that. I know it doesn't sound too thrilling, but these are mostly the only type of things that someone under 16 can do for work.
Another idea is if your area has any farms or nurseries (where you buy plants) sometimes you can get work there, because they are considered "agricultural" and are allowed to have workers as young as 14.
Whatever you decide to do, make sure that you save all that you earn. It sounds obvious, but you really have to concentrate on it. If you fritter a little bit here and there, suddenly you have been working really hard and 3 months later, you have nothing. Keep your eye on the goal, not just all the little temptations along the way.
