First you have to make a list of everything you spend your money on: Bills, Entertainment, Essentials: Utilites, Gas, etc.
Then see where you can reduce your bills (cut back on things, change service providors, plans), bringing a sack lunch

Something that has worked for me is to do an automatic allotment from your paycheck. I automatically have $2000 a year go into my retirement account without me ever even seeing the money. You don't know it's even missing so it doesn't really hurt you and by the time you are time to retire, you have a decent amount of money saved up to help you out. Of course I put money into other investments, but this is just one example of something that you can do. |

don't buy a new car ever....there's plenty of good deals on the side of the road...just do your homework.....bought a ford taurus 3 years old for 6,500 put 140k miles on it and sold it for 2,500...so for 4000 I drove it for 4 years and 140k.....a new car I would have lost over 15,000 for the same amount of time and miles.....you would save 11,000 dollars plus lower insurance, plates, and sales tax.........and try not to use credit cards unless the thing you are purchasing is going to make you money |

Do not go on vacation except once per year and to close by states or to states or locations that are cheap.
Consider shopping in states with lower sales tax.
Do not buy stuff online as online stuff is somewhat more expensive than stuff at stores.
Prices for stuff can vary by as much as 30%, try to visit as many stores as possible to get the best deal.
Have a car with good milage.
Use public transportation as much as possible,
Live in a house with good heat insulation.
Use renewable energy sources when possible.
Drink before going to a bar.
Do go out every once in a while, otherwise you will become depressed and it will cost you more money in medical and therapy costs.
Try to buy larger quantitites if there is a big discount when buying big packages. However make sure you actually use the stuff. Always look for price per oz or price per pound when buying.
In half of the cases supermarket brand stuff is as good as the branded stuff. Try every item once, and if you happen to like it, then you can buy it again.
With regard to OTC drugs, use Chain pharmacy brand. In most cases it is the same quality.
Use Manufacturer coopons and use coopons in news papers and also in the stuff they leave in your mail box. |
