I understand your concern since you don't want your parents to know your business and you are finding your independence. Yes you can't open a account with out your parents their. However, ask your parents if I show response ability could you allow the bank to allow me to open an account. I am considering this because:
I do believe a minor can open a account with parents approval for a new account. |

If you already have your own bank account, I'm assuming savings, check the bank where you have your account...but I'm pretty sure since you're not 16 or 18 you will need your parent's to open up the checking account with you. |

>Where can I find a bank like this?
In your dreams.
In the real world, minors are not held responsible for their banking or contractual agreements, therefore, the banks would have to refund money (or credit) spent by you, if your parents or a court believes you should have been prevented from having the ability to do it. |

You have to wait until you're a little older to open your own bank account. |

I don't think a 15 year old can do that. It is illegal???!!!!! |

Each bank has an on-line resource & lists what their requirements are.
Most will open you a savings account with a bank card option to withdraw money or use like a credit card but they do not issue checks in a checking account.
You can open a High Yield Money Market account which is a savings account that let's you write checks off it. Most limit it to a couple checks a month. As a minor your parents can still be made liable for many things, so you may need their consent.
Remember to go online & check what they need.
You can get another family member to help you open one without your parents involvement if there is one you trust.
Good luck. Your at a hard age. Your parents are trying to love you by looking out for your interests. It can suck but take it as a compliment that they care enough.
I had one at 15 so the must be 18 answers are not all accurate. There are circumstances where you can get them. |

You can't. To sign a check (or open an account) you have to be able to legally bind yourself. That means, by legal definition, you must be an adult.
The ONLY way a 15-year-old can legally open a bank account is with an adult (who then becomes responsible) to share the account with you.
Quit trying to find a solution: There isn't one.
I've given a link below to Bank of America's checking information, so you can see that they do NOT allow it. But this is a legal issue--when you sign a check (or any document) you are taking responsibility for your actions. That is something only an adult can do. So, despite the little girl who says she has an account at BofA, she either has an adult co-signer, or is outright lying. YOU CANNOT OPEN AN ACCOUNT (or otherwise make a legally binding contract) until you are an adult. |

impossible legally, and illegally it'll just be a bunch of con-artists trying to get your money. Sorry but since you're a minor there's nothing you can do about it. You're parents don't give you any privacy cause your ONLY 15 years old. They want to make sure you're making smart decisions with your money...that's part of being a GOOD parent. |

If you are still living at home then you have to abided my their rules. Are you playing rent to your parents? Do you have a job? Do you give them a portion of the money that you currently have today?
Get the yellow pages for your area and local all of the local banks and ask them your question. |

It depends where you live.
In California there is credit unions and you can take classes to get your very own credit and debit card. I am currently 15 as well and am taking those classes |

Some banks, like Key Bank, have student accounts. I'm not sure if there is an age limit but my neighbor's son has a student account and he's 14. Check online for different banks in your area and see if they have student checking accounts. |

Not if your underage.
By law, banks need to have your parents present,
they cannot give bank account to minors...
sorry bud, but that's just the way that it goes.
Maybe sit down and talk to your parents,
tell them that if they help you get a bank account,
it is your money and you don't want them to bug you.
Or you can always just get a piggy bank=]] |

PayPal...You can store all your money in complete privacy. The only difficulty would be getting it there. I know you can do bank transfers, but you need a checking/savings account, which is the main problem. I suppose you could just setup one of your parent's accounts in PayPal, give them the money you want to take from their account, then take it. I'm 14 and that's what I do. PayPal also gives debit MasterCards, which are awesome. |
