Not having the money is not an excuse. If you are sure you will have the money next month, tell them you will pay double next month and that you just forgot this month and made an error with your budget.
If it truly IS your first time, they will accept this. Remember that you can only do this once. |

They dont want an excuse, just their money. As far as they are concerned there are no excuses. Spend your time figuring out how to get current, not how to make an excuse, or soon you will find your car missing. |

Just explain to them that you fell behind due to financial difficulties and maybe they will understand and work with you so you won't lose your car. The worse thing you can do is avoid them. |

been there-yeesh. okay, call the finance company, inform them that you are late, and will not be able to catch up this month. inform them that you understand that they can place the missed payment on the end of your loan. apologize for the inconvenience, thank them for their help. always come from an honest, but strong position. they dont want the car back-they just want to know, if you died, are sick, or will ever make another payment. when you call, if you get a jerk-tell the jerk, "listen, i will call back when the grown ups get back from lunch." dont be intimidated, or ashamed. you are not the first, or last person who has blown a payment. if people didnt miss payments-would the finance company be employing those people who make calls? |

BE HONEST! Believe it or not they would rather you tell them the truth and not lie to them. Sometimes when you tell them that you currently don't have the money, they will work a payment plan/option out with you. |

they usually will go easy if you never late making payments and have decent credit history. In general any payment due past 30 days cause serious problem to you and they will report to credit agency. They usually wait till 60 days to repossess the car. |

That's all you can say, that you don't have the money, and ask them to give you some more time. The person calling couldn't care less what your excuse is, they're just there to do their job and call you to find out when the company CAN expect payment. If I'm not mistaken, it goes on your credit report after 30 days, so pay it before then if you can, or at least make a partial payment on some sort of payment arrangement with them. I don't think they can put it on your credit report if you're paying them something, but I could definitely be wrong about that, so check into it. As long as you're trying to work with them, I'm pretty sure they won't want to get into any sort of repossession situation, because that costs them a lot of money, too. |

well-i've been succesful with HONESTY---they are usually supportive if you call and basically spill your guts to the supervisor of billing at the dealership. Call and just tell the truth about your financial situation. Good Luck |

Thats it- you don't even have a legitimate excuse you are asking us to give you one? You are trully a $%&^. catch up as soon as you can because at this point even if you pay them it will show as a late payment. |
