Shop around and ask. Each time you go to another bank mention what the other is giving you and bargain. If not then take advantage of whichever bank is offering the best deal at the time. They usually have promotions at different times of the year.
If time is an issue here then it depends on location. You need a bank that has an ATM and office nearby to your home or work route. This way you'll never have to pay those nasty withdrawal ATM charges. Also, you'll never be out of your way to stop at the bank; convenient.
Now this is a hard question to answer because it really depends on which bank suites You the best. Each bank is in business because they satisfy different costumers certain needs. Each bank has its own gimmick and therefore are best suited for different people.
Also no matter the good reputation of the bank, you also have to take into account that each bank operates at different performance levels. It depends on the staff at hand. If a Bank of America facility is run well, that does not mean that the next will also run well. In the end, it really depends on the particular establishments where you live.
If you travel often you want to consider their locations around the country. How many ATMs do they have? Are they in the NE, SE, MW, W??? These are all important questions.
I will suggest:
Bank of America
Wachovia
*Your local bank or union |

If you are eligble (military member or a child of a military member) you should go with USAA (www.usaa.com). Great customer service, easy to use web interface, outstanding rates and good insurance.
I left Bank of America after 12 yrs for horrible customer service(stay away from that bank) and went to USAA and haven't been happier (only wish I had made the move sooner). |

Have you tried a credit union? JB has a good idea in staying local. They are competing with the "biggies" and often will "work" to keep you. Remember, they need your money. |

I would suggest a credit union for a local bank. But if you travel or live in hurricane disaster areas, I suggest using a large bank too so you can access your money wherever you go without any problems. I would definately shop around and see what accounts suit you best. Go to your nearest big bank such as Bank of America and local bank and tell them what you are looking for and they would be more than willing to inform you of the accounts that would be best for you. Make sure you get all of the fee details!!!!!!!!! |

Try to find a Credit Union. They are owned by the members usually charge low fees and have good loan rates. Since you are an owner if you are a member they are usually very easy to deal with. In order to join you must have an affiliation: Work, School, Church, Union membership Place where you live or your families work etc... can all get you entry. If you find a credit union they can help you find one that you can be associated with. |

Join a credit union. They usually have a low fee(if any) for a checking and savings account. Also lower interest rates on CDs. |

I'm Sure you'll love them too. There website is WWW.Wescom.Org I hope i was some sort of help. Also There only available for people in southern California almost forgot but do try a credit union instead it might be more helpful.
