put part of it in a secured bank account to where you cant touch it for so many years just only add to it. Or get a debit bank account and dont order a debit card that way if you need the money you can still withdraw it.

I had the same problem until someone helped me out. They told me to put my money in the bank and don't get any checks or debit cards. That way if I needed the money I would have to go to the bank and fill out a withdrawal slip and get my money that way. I found myself going to the bank a lot, So I stop. And I managed to save quite a lot. I didn't like having to drive all the way there just to get a few dollars all the time. It also cut down on other people asking me for money. Because I honestly didn't have any on me. So it was true when I told people I was broke.

DB
Place this money into a savings account, that is NOT tied to a checking account (though that's hard to do these days).

I ended up having to open a second account at another bank that's actually out of my way to use, because I had the same problem. It helps, because it puts a physical (and mental) barrier between you and your easily spent cash.

don't keep change of large amount of money in pocket but keep money as 100,500 in pocket.
this will prevent spending small amount

put part of your money in a savings account that doesn't have a check or debit card attached to it.

Use direct deposit for your work check. Have your bank deposit x amount of dollars (I suggest 50%) in your savings, and the rest in your checking. Allow yourself to spend the checking, but hands off the savings.

If that does not work, there is always electroshock treatment.

Set up a direct deposit and don't touch it.

Don't spend it. Plain and simple.

i heard the japs invented a piggy bank that only opens when full. maybe that helps...... it is shaped like a bomb.

If you have a job, see about having your money direct deposited into your account. If you're a kid still living with your parents, ask them to open you a bank account, and instead of giving you money have them put it in the bank and have them deposit your check. If you're an adult, grow up and quit being so irresposible.

put it in the bank after a while it adds up quick

Thuy Nhi
one solution is that you give the money to someone you trust and get the money whenever you need it. or you put the money in the bank

CamDNA2
Put it in the bank and give someone you TRUST like a parent or good friend your bank card maybe?

That's what i do anyway and i save money well.

That is what a piggy bank is for. Put the money in a box which you can not open without a hammer.

If your employer offers direct deposit you can try opening a savings account and then have your check split up between your savings and checking accounts. Hopefully over time you will for the most part forget you have the savings account, and only use that money when you really need it.

V C
Pay yourself first, have your money directly deposited into your bank account, and have the bank set aside an exact amount into a savings account every month.

Or when you get paid, take 5-10% out and put it into savings first then, then you can spend the rest how you usually do without worrying.

A C
Where is this money coming from> If its a job then look into getting direct deposit set up into your bank, then rip up any debit/credit cards you have.

Doing this will put all your money into the bank and the only way you will be able to spend it is by writing checks or by going into the bank and doing a cash withdrawl from your account. If you still spend all you get then work with your bank into opening an account like a Money Marke which will limit you to 6 transactions a month which will make it even harder to get to your money for frivarolus purposes.

If direct deposit isnt an option just deposit every check you get instead of cashing then then do everything else i said.
