Start with your local department of Social Services. Many agencies will require you to go there first before they will help you. If you are not eligible for services they should be able to give you a list of other agencies that may be able to help you.
Also call some of these agencies. Check your yellow pages:
Local Churches
Salvation Army
United Way
YMCA or YWCA
Community Action Agency
Local Public Housing Authority |

Try your local township trustee. They will make you work it off to 'pay them back', but they can get you the help almost immediately. |
