I am a student and have run out of money, i also have bad credit!?
Its my fault, last year i had a run on credit cards and developed a bad credit rating and learned the hard way, while i can control money now, ive run out of my loan, i asked my bank holding my student account for an overdraft extension an they said no becuse of my credit score (i knew it would come an bite me in my ***). Is there anything else i can do to cover me until my next loan payment? Ive been out and applied for jobs, but all the local shops want people who can work over xmas when ill be going home, so ive been turned down (i do have a job over the xmas hols at home) Is there a bank who might offer me an overdraft without credit checks, or anyone who might know an alternative route would be much appreciated!
Additional Details
Im from lincoln UK. I know about these emergency funding options from the Uni. I dont think my case is bad enough for that, i can still ask my mum - but things are complicated there as shes not working at the moment to care for my gran. As for these work a day companies, do you know where i can find out about any in my area?

Go on the game.

It's an age-old remedy, but it works.

what about getting a part time loan. It's christmas, anyone can get a part time job. Maybe you shouldn't be going home.

Go to a temp or labor company that uses people on a daily bases. You will make about 7-9 a hour.

Donate plasma. It hurts but it will put some cash in your pocket. I did this off and on through college when I was desperate. Good luck! Hope you have a stomach of steel! Haha

you said you can ask mam i would rather than
ask stragers on here,,,,.....???????????

The best thing you can do if you cannot get a job in time to pay your loan is to approach your lender and advise them of your situation in full (don't try to hide anything). Most lenders will try and accommodate a short term setback if they know why you can't pay.
Good luck

so since after your job when ur home for xmas you wont be having any income (right?) can you apply for unemployment, which is usually around 60% or so of our wages from your last job. if you are even offered that, and that will hold you over for maybe 6 months, and you don't have to pay it back, but you also can't have another income coming in.

mhhh.... where are you from?.... add it in the details.

Not sure what you mean by a bank that might offer you an overdraft. The term overdraft means that you spent more than what was in your account. No one GIVES you an overdraft.

Sounds like you might think about skipping the trip home and working instead. Sometimes life does that to you and you have to change your vacation plans.

This isn't a full solution to your problems but it may help you to chip away at your debt bit by bit (and in turn save the interest that you'd otherwise end up paying - and interest can really mount up).

There are various websites which:
- give you cashback on purchases
- allow you to perform searches each day and pay you for doing so.

Using the latter you get "free money" (or you could think of it as being paid for your time).

You're not going to get rich doing these, but you can get some useful beer money depending upon how many you do.

Try the links below and sign up to any or all of the sites.
Each day you can do the "Daily" or "Recurring" searches (terminology depends on the site) and you'll gradually build up free money.

NB Don't sign up to lots of them straight away. Start with 1 or 2 until you get the hang of it and sign up for others once you've got used to using the sites quickly.

Also, there's lots of good advice on the moneysavingexpert site, see the last link below.
