I understand... being a single mom with two kids I worry about the same thing from time to time (but I worry also about everything). Living pay check to pay check can become a strain and tiresome. The only advice I can offer is dont fall for the get rich schemes and commit yourself to putting a set amount each pay check in savings (or if you have an IRA set a % of your check towards that) and dont touch the money unless absolutely needed.
Being a mom makes you aware that there is so much more to life than being financially rich. You cant take the mansion or the porche or "Rolex gold & diamond pearlmaster watch" (way to make her feel a whole lot better :() to heaven with you. |

My only advice is to NEVER join one of those pyramid-type get rich quick schemes!!!! You will not get rich...especially not quickly. |

This is only a problem for you if you feel being "rich" is one of your life's goals. If it is, then seek help and get a plan to get there, just as you would do with any other goal. Having money for the sake of being rich is pointless, there is always a reason a person wants money. What's yours? |

Financially rich means different things to different people... an uneducated low income person may consider $50,000 to be rich
An educated, career person such as myself, realizes even a few million would be needed to be considered rich. When I was younger and just starting college, I thought to myself I'll be rich when I'm making 40,000 a yr and have a rolex and take nice vacations and drive a nice car. By my young standards that was the bomb, I'm 38 have met all my dreams that I imagined when I was young and have a sound financial plan but would never consider myself truly rich unless I had a couple million dollars in liquid capital and no debts.
But if that never happens it's ok, I'm rich in "love" I have a wonderful family, great friends that I would trade it all for to revel in their love and the time I spend with my daughter doing fun things together nothing!!! ~~~~ not even my Rolex gold & diamond pearlmaster watch could take the place of that. |
