they will do a cheque for you just ask could you give me a cheque to pay (company) for £25000 you don't need any notice the money is taken from your bank so the cheque will clear.
i did the same thing for buying a car.

Colette B
You could probably get a bank certified check. It is guaranteed by the bank and is as good as cash.

The bank likes a couple of hours notice.

We've always put our desposits down with a check. Cash can so easily be taken by ANYONE and although you withdrew 25,000 it doesn't mean that you will use it all. At least, that's what the lawyers can claim.

Anyway--just use a check. You can ask your bank as to their policies, but most won't really notice.

hold on....why do you need to take out the money????? write a cheque....if the cheque bounces or NSF then No house for you...but if you give over money... and this is a scam, then tuff luck for you....if they don't accept the cheque...then go find another house...be very careful, this is a very scary place for someone with no experience you can get robbed and have no recourse.

get someone who has done this before to go with you....

Get the cashier to send a CHAPS payment, it might cost you around £20 but it'll go straight to your solicitor securely the same day. You will need to contact your solicitor for their client account details and give these to the cashier. You will probably also have to take an extra piece of ID to the bank with you. This is normal procedure for house purchases.

YOu may get a cashiers check.DEALING with that amount of cash an attorney is a great idea.

Apples to Apples
I would call the bank and discuss it with the bank manager. They should be able to write you a cashiers check made payable to the appropriate party without much notice. If you were taking cash, they would need more time to compile the funds. However; since a check doesn't actually involve any cash...it is merely a paper transaction, I wouldn't think they would need a great deal of notice.

Christopher L
You will need to get a Cashier's check for the amount. It should not take very long for them to get it together at all; under 20 minutes.

Definitely the best way to do this is a BACS transfer. Go to a branch/ or on telephone banking and they can arrange this for you. Just make sure that you have the correct details of your solicitors (or whoever you are paying your deposit to) and it is credited at the recipient the same day (as long as you request it before 3pm ish).
This is preferable to cheque cos you don't have to wait a week for it to clear and it is probably the most common way of paying deposits.
The only down side is it costs about £20 (but when you're paying out £25,000 it doesn't really seem a lot- ha ha)

Speak to your solicitor, he/she may well ssk for it by bankers draft or by funds transfer

Get a cashier's check made out to the title company, which handles the escrow. Good luck!

you mean a loan or you already have the money in your acount?

if its in your account just write a cheque out, otherwise apply for a loan through their website or drop into a branch.

L
when i paid my desposit, my solicitors gave me an account number which i took into my bank. I told the bank the number and how much i wanted to pay. The bank transfered the money to the solicitors who then arranged for the deposit to be paid. I never saw the money or the cheque.

Your solicitor will tell you what to do, dont worry

as long as the money is in the account, you should be able to walk up to a teller, request a cashiers check & just give them the name of whoever you need it made out to.

Leah
You will need to ask for a bankers draft. Barclays will definitely do it for you. It is better than a cheque because it is cleared funds. If you use a bankers cheque it'll take 7 days to clear with the receiver, putting your house buying 7 days behind. A bankers draft is cleared so they will have it immediately. Ring Barclays and make sure you don't need to get a special appointment on 0845 300 4292. Make sure you have your sort code and account number handy.

They charge you for a cashiers cheque which is a cheque made out to your solicitor or mortgage company,,,,,,,,it is like cash because the bank write the cheque so it wont bounce but they charge 15 pounds for one of those

The easiest way to do it is to transfer your money into your current account and write a personal cheque out, that way you are not charged........or open a current account with who ever you have your savings with
