They turn you down for a reason, they probably feel sorry for you in your position and dont want you sucked into their world of filth and violence. I would hazard a guess that you have not even checked the interest rate that they offer, just to help you decide they normally work on an APR of 1068% or there abouts (Licenced and regulated by the government) I know as I used to be involved in debt counselling, it works something like this, they loan you for arguments sake £100 and you pay back £10 per week over 14 weeks repaying £140 but what happens is by the 7th week you cant afford it so they say "dont worry as you have money to come" and you are relieved as you are scared so they "renew" your loan and give you £30 but take back £10 as your payment so you get £20 which you are grateful for, you now owe £140 again and on that the interest rate is incredible. The tragedy of this is people in your situation normally have some debt already which is why they cannot get normal finance and go to these parasites, once hooked its a way of life. The government run quite a few help lines and services to help people like yourself, there are also some charities that can help http://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/index/getadvice.htm being one and, http://www.nationaldebtline.co.uk/index.php being another but the distressing thing about all of this is that H M Government issue licences to these loan sharking bastards and share in the proceeds by way of taxes and they know exactly where the money comes from. Just out of interest I see that someone has suggested the Provident their interest rates are 183.2% which is not ideal but a whole lot better than 1068%. |

Bad idea honey. I am sure you local associations can help you. Go to your citizens advise I am sure they can help you. You could get crisis loans etc. You will always be in debt with loan sharks. |

Don't be silly darling. The only positive thing about loan sharks is their collective name, so that you know whom you are dealing with. They ARE sharks and once you get involved with them you are in danger of losing everything you have. Go and try to get help from your nearest CAB. Also try Social Services. There are also charities that might be able to help, perhaps not financially, but in other ways. Anything wrong with secondhand baby clothing? No. |

Loan sharks are not called that without good reason. Stay away from them, there are always other alternatives. Try the Citizens Advice Bureau and ask for their help and advice about what you're entitled to from the government, and they will also sometimes call your bank for you and negotiate on your behalf. |

you don`t need to get a loan.
Go to your job centre plus and ask for a community care grant form
you do not have to pay this back... takes just over a week to get
Good Luck |

interest is an amount added to a loan so if you borrow at a high interest you pay lots back , loan sharks are greedy and keep you in debt with high interest , see a bank or if on benefits see about a loan there . |

Get a crisis loan. Tell them exactly what you need it for and don't accept the first offer if it's not enough.
Loan sharks are not the answer, you'll end up with nothing.
You may have things in your area that you can buy stuff cheep. Or try Gumtree |

Try Provident Financial Services or a similar weekly cash collected credit company. They offer up to £300 of unsecured credit initially no matter what your circumstances. Be aware though that they are adverse credit lenders and their interest rates are high. They are however legitimate regulated lenders. |

Please DO NOT go to any Loan Sharks...I know what its like to be desperate for money and to be refused credit. Loan Sharks are the worst people to borrow from, Provident is only slightly better and Banks are only slightly better again. There is a website where people can lend you money, not Banks...its http://uk.zopa.com/ZopaWeb/
Give it a try and I wish you luck with your finances and your new baby. |
