It's a scam. All of that stuff from South Africa, and Nigeria, and those african countries about millions of $s that need to be sent to you, or you have won, or they need to ship to someone they can trust...it's all hogwash.
There are long lists of these on the FBI web site, actually. |

Oh, I am sure they are totally upfront and honest. This is definitely not a scam in any way shape or form. Really, you should probably give this person everything you have, not just what they are asking for. It'll all be worth it in the end. After all, it's not like this same thing has ever turned out badly for anyone else. |

It's obviously a scam... but why not have a bit of fun at thier expense?! tell them you're really interested and ask them to wait on the line while you go and get a pen and your bank account details.. go and have a cup of coffee, watch the news, have a bath!! just pop back now and again to tell them you're still looking!! hopefully they'll wait - give it an hour then hang up! |

I got a few e-mails instead of calls from some states in Africa. They said somehow I was being chosen as the next of kin of somebody who was dead and that I could get the inheritance. It was all very well described and at first I thought it was true but actually it wasn't.I didn't carry on the process but considering I receive this prize from different people it sounded a bit funny |

South Africa is notorious for scams and money making schemes.
Ignore it or you'll find yourself helping some African student find their long lost relative and helping them with a donation of X amount of dollars to help them gain their inheritance which they will share with you immediately after they get it!
It's all bull sh*it! Put their E-mail address on IGGY but quick! |

Dear Swapo!
You are in about to put yourself in a soup. This is an international racket. you better be cautious. Because you will find within few days that they are informing that your booty has increased to $ 1 Million or more than that amount. And you have not mentioned but you have received in your Inbox.
If you reply they will ask for your Bank account detail on the pretext of depositing the money in your account. Next they will tell you to send Rs. 2,00,000/- or some amount like that as processing fees. To make it more convincing they will show you some Certificate and give you E-mail ID and Phone numbers of some persons, who are belived to be belonging to this group of swindlers.
If out of greed you send this money for repeaing more you are cheated nd only have to lament yourself.
Its better you take a print out of the E-mail and contct the local Cyber Crime Bureau to investigate into the matter.
This is the fraudulent activities of an International gang of swindlers. you just imagine if only one out of every 200 persons fall in their trap and send them money then ho much mney they will earn.
So my friend beware and put this matter out of your head. |

How do you know the caller is in South Africa. That is what he is saying. What country are you in?
If you are in the USA and the caller is in South Africa, that is a scam. They are not going to be offering money to people in America (Not meaning the US, but the whole continent). |

Contact, the RCMP if you are in Canada, or if you are elsewhere, contact your fraud dpt in the police dpt. Many people will say to just avoid these emails and letters, as it is a scam. This is true, however these people need to be stopped. We need to send their names and info to the fraud dpt and stop this from happeneing to the poor sap that actually has the $2750 to send to them and does! I have had numerous emails from these nigerian scammers and I have forwarded each and every one of them to the authorities. I hope this helps!!! |

Yes, I do. It's a scam and I've heard of it before. You can try reporting it to the FBI or something, but from what I understand, there is a very low accountability factor for these scammers. Do not reply or give them any personal information or money. |

I usually tell them "funny, I was just about to say the same to you"..
