Afraid so. You will need proof of identity, being either a passport or driving licence (photo ID), then a current utility bill as proof of address.
Shop around - I know from moving to New Zealand that I could set up my NZ bank account from the UK (and that they are offering the same facility here for UK banks). You may be able to have it all set up in Ireland! |

Firstly you need a fixed address. Can't imagine why you'd come to London from Ireland, I'd give anything to go and live there, especially over in the west, it's just beautiful ! |

Driving license with uk address and utility bill. Usually 2 forms ID reqd. Passport, birth certificate, credit card bill etc etc. Why don't you just ask the bank? |

Yes you usually need proof of an address, like a bill or rent book. Not having a job may affect the type of account they give you if you dont have a regular income going into the account. |
