Well, first thing you need to make sure you have a job. You need income to pay off your bills, without it you truly are screwed. If you do have income then the best thing to do is to go to your bank, most banks provide a personal financial adviser service. Essentially you sit down with this person and go through all your finances, so you go through how much money you get every month, how much money you need to spend on essentials (bills, transport, rent and food) and how much money that you end up with left over (i.e. Your beer money or whatever). From there you need to try and arrange a loan from your bank to pay off all your outstanding bills (I know you say you have bad credit, but it's worth a try), the payments for paying off this loan then come out of your spare cash fund. At this point you should have a plan in front of you, you know how much money you get and how much money you need and how much money you have left over for fun things. From then on you just need to carefully budget yourself, which means being very careful that you don't spend more money on things than your budget allows. Over time you'll eventually pay your loan off and then you'll have extra spare cash every month.
Of course, if the bank refuses you a loan then things get more complicated, since you need to phone up each and every debtee you have and arrange some kind of repayment scheme with them (i.e. Offer to pay X dollars per month for X months until the debt is paid off). It's in your debtees interests to agree to this approach, since they want their money and there's no point in demanding the full $1000 from you if you only have $200. It's better for them to get the money over a longer period of time than it is for them to force you into bankruptcy, at which point they don't get it back at all. |

I know you have sen them Look in the phone book and call one of the companies that help you get out of debt. they will contact your creditors and set up a payment plan that you can afford. The only other choice you have is to file bankruptcy and you have to pay for this 2. |

Proritize your life. Pay "important," bills first. (i.e. House, utilities, car) Then start paying off your credit cards. Make a record of every penny you spend for the next couple of months, and use that to create a budget. Then, stick to that budget and get your bills under control. |

Pay what you can, or declare bankruptcy. As far as wanting to die, read my story... I wanted to die, but found a way out as you can too. Here: http://www.geocities.com/seabulls69/AntidepressantThatWorks.html
The book I recommend helps just about any situation. It literally saved my life. I'm not rich, but everything's paid. While I don't make a lot of money, I am quite happy and content. Money problems don't have to be the end of the world. With positivity, patience and persistence, you can work out just about anything.
'nuff said? |

Besides any financial advise you may get here, I strongly suggest you get individual counseling, both financial and psychological. You may have clinical depression and don't know it. |

first, cut up any and all credit cards you have. consolidate your debt, that way your interest will be lower and you'll be paying one bill each month instead of many. This will also help you improve your credit by paying on time each month. don't give up!! |

There are probably people who care, but you are too ashamed or embarassed or afraid to ask for help that you think death is the only way out. I've been there, and not very long ago. Some friends have come forward to help with money for the essentials and are helping me find a cheaper place to live and maybe some more work. I may have a job on Monday. I'll know then. And I'm 64!
Look into bankruptcy to get rid of the debt or consumer debt counselling to maybe work out a payment plan. Bankruptcy is best because all the interest and late fees stop, along with the phone calls and letters.
The debt counselling is often paid by the creditors, and many creditors do not stop interest or late fees and can still sue you, while bankruptcy stops all that.
So stop wallowing in self pity and start doing something about it. |

Welcome to adulthood! Unfortunately, we didn't know this aspect of it when we were young, nor were we warned about it. But....you can always do as I do. Do your best, work hard, and rob Peter to pay Paul. Believe it or not, as long as you don't spend outrageously....you'll eventually catch up and get ahead. Of course, it may take a few years....but in the meantime, find ways to have fun, do things, without spending a lot of money.
For myself and my daughter, we love watching movies, but found local rentals to be too expensive, so joined NetFlix for about 20 bucks a month, and we get 3 at a time, unlimited monthly and I don't spend money on gas going back and forth to the store, OR spend any money on late fees! Just one of the ways to save me a bit of money.
There are NUMEROUS ways....if you'd like to hear more....email me...I'd be more than glad to share what I know, and what we do. And chin up...things do get better.....promise! :) |

Go back to work, ignore the bill collectors. When you are more stable negotiate. Life goes on. |
