How is it the lottery system is unscaved and up and running?(you can buy a pick 3 ticket but Laworks.net can't be up and running, WTF?) Yet the state is unable to assist those people on their unemployment? Why hasn't Jindal addressed the state's inability to provide assistance to those seeking their unemployment benifits? Jindal seems more concern with press conferences and playing the role of a spin doctor to the national media than the unemployed of his state. He needs reminding that we are also registered VOTERS!!! |

First let me start by saying that I am sorry in advance if this doesn't help your answer. I too haven't been able to process my claim, hell I'm going into week three all because they need to verify that I am in school. For me this is my ONLY source of income period nothing. I called a few number and was told to call back in 7-10 days.....So I'm like 7-10 days from when you know like what date????? I so understand what you and everyone is going through within 7-10 days I will surely be out of Food, Gas and my MIND!!! Lord please help us.. Now on top of this I am a Full-Time student who will be going back to school within a weeks time, yet I still have no lights, income and soon no more housing. I'm now like WTF???? LORD HELP US ALL!!!! |

That sounds about right! I just started receiving my benefits a couple of weeks ago and had the same question. I just filed my weekly claim Sunday and now can't get through to see if everything was processed. Online or by phone. WTF??? Oh well. |

One of the posters below said this # would be good tonight after 8pm. It is 1 800 818 7811, it seemed that Chase gave it to them, however, I had no success and tried @ 9:20CST. If anyone else has any further info to help all of us, please post it. |

I also filed for my weekly benefits this passed Sunday, and I can't get through to anyone at the Louisiana Department of Labor, but I called the 800 number on the back of my card for Chase, and they said the delay for benefits was due to Monday being a holiday (Labor Day), so that's why benefits are delayed, not because of Hurricane Gustav. So hopefully by Friday, Sept. 5th, everyone will have there money from there Sunday claim. I hope it all works out!!! |

I have been in the process of judication with laworks for six weeks now, they are telling me that they are so far behind and things are going to take a while. So I guess with this new power outage Im going to have to wait another six weeks, meanwhile the money I could be using to help my family out just sits there like I don't deserve it. I WANT MY MONEY! NOW! Quit wasting my time, and clear me for payment! |

Louisiana Workforce Commission is located in Baton Rouge. Most of Baton Rouge is still without power because of Hurricane Gustav. It is reasonable to assume that without power to the server, the server would be offline. Back up generators only usually provide limited essential power. A server for unemployment is probably not considered essential by Louisiana officials. |

I have the same problem. Pretty much all government agencies in La are down bc the storm.OFS, Health Units, LaWorks, etc. might not be up until next week. |

I have also been trying to contact louisiana for my unemployment information and none of the numbers work. I figure it is because of the hurricane, but my only question would be. Do these weeks of being unable to contact them mean that i will have to reopen my claim when the system is back up and running? This has been the sole way that I pay my bills and they don't stop coming because the postal system always finds a way. Everyone, this is what happens when humans are replaced by computers. Good luck everyone. |

LA Works, formerly LA Dept of Labor is still without power. They are hoping to have power restored today, but that is up to the power company and their hard work.
Keep in mind, when the systems are restored, the claims processing is one week behind, so there may be some delays, as expected. |
