There are worse things in the world. I left a job I hated and took another (that I love) for about 2/3rds the salary of the first, but I'm infinitely happier.
Why are some of the poorest people in the world actually also among the happiest? |

of course it is better than being on the dole (marginally) and there is the old saying 'money doesn't bring happiness' as my boss reminded me this morning. |

Maybe you can do something to supplement it? Can you do freelance work on your off hours? Maybe teach a class at the local college?
But I agree with what one of the other posters said, your check will never be what you want it to be. What you have to do is find a way to make enough for you to pay your bills and be happy. |

Draw up a budget and see where you can save some money. Make it very detailed...include morning coffee you buy, packs of gum, eating out, etc. Then find ways to make the things you do cheaper. You dont have to deprive yourself you just have to be smarter about how you spend it.
make your coffee at home, food shop and pack your lunch and cook at home, buy gum in bulk, downgrade your cable, cell phone, cut down on electricity. |

I'm sure everyone will just say 'get another job that pays more' but I know this isn't always possible or a helpful answer, cos I know how horrible it is to be skint...
www.msn.com always have a good section on money and how to budget/save/make do...good suggestions, not patronising stuff and practical ways that might make your money stretch that little bit further.
