She neeeds to pay you more. When do you get to spend time with your kids(alone) When does she spend time with hers? You are basically being the mom for these kids of here and are taking time away from mothering your own. Unless you are desparate for the money, I would get OUT of that sitiuation because she is out to use you. She problably doent get THAT much extra from the second job and she was counting on NOT sharing THAT part with you. Like i siad... i would get out of that situation if i could, if you cant... dont babysit another day til she pays you more...(and if she does pay you more..... i betcha she wont keep that job too long) |

Peaches, Peaches. It doesn't matter how many jobs she has, it has to do with the set rate that you have for your babysitting services. You need to inform the lady, that your rate has gone up. She has the option of paying you or withdrawing her children from your care. Take care. |

I would flat tell her, she either pays more, or she can find someone else to watch her kids, for that length of time.
I am a day care provider, and I wont watch kids for over 12 hrs out of a day...that makes a LONG FREAKIN day with kids that are not your own, you have a life too, and need to spend time with your kids also, and she needs to pay you well for doing so.
She prolly wouldn't like my rates for 2 kids, over 12 hrs a day....I charge $30 for 2 kids for 12 hrs!! |

Especially now that she has more money coming in, she should pay you hourly. Not salery. I understand that she feels that if she pays you the same, she will have extra money for STUFF, but she needs to understand you need more money for YOUR stuff. But most importantly...with her added job, that's taking you from YOUR family EVEN LONGER! She needs to meet you half way. She can't have her cake, and eat it too! |

You need to inform her that if she wants you to keep her kids more hours, she has to pay more money. After all, she is making more money, why shouldn't you? She may be thinking that because you are home anyway it shouldn't be a big deal, but having her kids on top of your own is a lot of work. The longer hours takes away from having any time with just your own family. You must set clear limits on what you are willing to do. If she will not adhere to your policies, you need to give her two weeks notice to find another sitter. If you need the income from sitting, there are plenty of people who are looking for a good sitter. Do not allow this woman to take advantage of you! |

If you're babysitting longer you definitely need more money, you could be doing other things during that time-you're supposed to be paid for your time. She won't get another babysitter like you. |

You must let her know that something needs to change.
When schedules and new jobs come about, it is always hectic.
She may not even realize that there is a conflict. If she is working two jobs, after a while a person starts flat lining. Where all you do is wake up work go home and sleep, to do it all over again.
She may even be glad she has you to count on. She doesn't have to worry about her children being in harms way.
If the children are older they can help ease the stress of watching 6 kids at once.
The best thing is to at least see what her side of the situation is. Then together decide what should be done. |

I don't feel that she should have to pay extra just because she obtains another job. However, I do believe that she is taking advantage of you by not returning home after she gets off of her second job. You should set up a certain amount of time in which you are open for business and if someone goes beyond that time you should make them pay a late fee. Set a certain amount of time in a day for your family and don't compromise for anyone. They need you too. |

Don't be too hasty. First, look at her situation, does she go through a rough time?
How much does she pay you (currently)? Cuz she might've already paid more than you deserved, if not, then don't just sit there. Ask for more (she definitly should pay hourly), remember, your kids matter the most, not hers...
