If you are salaried, you do not receive compensation for overtime worked, but it works the other way too. You still get compensated for time lost. It all washes in the end. |

You are allowed several sick days per year and will be compensated 8 hours a day with medic slip or doctor slip depending where your Dad is located. |

Assuming that is a company and that he has been working there for some time then he will get his two days salary paid especially if he is paid in a salary or what is known yearly salary as known as sick pay. If it is not a full time employment and he works for one of those temp jobs then you do not get paid. |

It all depends on company policy, and whether or not he has sick leave. I was fortunate to have worked for the government, and we were allotted a day a month for the first two years, and then as our tenure became longer, we got more sick time accrued. Eventually, I had worked so long and took so few sick days, I maxed out on my sick leave and got compensatory pay when I retired. But that doesn't solve your problem. If your dad is a long-time employee, his boss would certainly be understanding, but there again, if company policy does not allow sick days, then your dad probably lost his pay for the days he took off. |

The only way he would lose pay is if he has no sick days or if is is paid hourly. But if he in on a salary pay he got paid. |
