Wow, that's brave!
One year my husband and I were skint, so we each went to the library and chose a book for the other & wrapped it for under the tree. So you get to choose something for them, and it doesn't cost anything! (You get into New Year before you have to take it back.) |

your state might call it illegal for you to ask for money like this.
Those people who can't afford to buy christmas gifts surely can use email cards (you can afford your computer and ISP it appears). You can make up poems and send those to the special people in your life. Otherwise if you're so poor you can sign up with your county for a meal, for clothing, for transportation, for food stamps, etc. etc. but don't go around asking for money on the internet. That's a no-no. |

i will donate some money to you as long as u give me fifty quid up front, to prove to me you are genuine. |

Simple. Make a donation to a charity and tell all your family you've done so. |There's as feel good factor for all involved. |

I give you some of my most valued wisdom. Make your gifts. Use your imagination. |

I think you're gonna get more tips on how to keep your details secure, rather than cash in the bank.
Have you heard of WORK for extra funds?
Have you heard of I.D. fraud for giving out your details? |

I'm surprised at all the replies saying make something like fudge and cookies etc. Do you think ingredients dont cost anything???
I doubt if this girl's poverty is genuine, and poverty of course is a matter of opinion.
If i genuinely had no money at all i would just tell people that i couldnt buy presents - if i was THAT poor they would already know, i should think!
If i was just a bit broke one year, and i have been in the past, then i would go round the charity shops -you can get some super bargains in there.
Do all HSBC's have the same sort code? - if so, then thats not the sort code for HSBC. |

Hiya Scrosie,
If that is ye bank details it would be safer for you to close that account and remove the details off the site as by now it should be extremely vunerable, times do get hard look on this site under how to make money there is a lot of options out there that will get you a little change in ye pocket for xmas it's a start but think of you own security first my dear. |

Well you should ask around your neighbourhood to see if any of the families need babysitters. or ask for a part time job in the local shop??that's all i can think of?best of luck to you. |

make a small donation to charity instead of buying presents |

Actually, some of the nicest presents are not purchased items. They are such things as a batch of home made cookies or a pie or a cake or perhaps a batch of fudge with nuts. yum.
One of the nicest Christmas presents I ever received was a hand knitted Christmas tree ornament. |

I hope you did not give out your real account details.
If you did and your bank find out they may well close your account.
If you have future fraud on your account you will not be covered.
That was very foolish of you.
I sympathise with your situation.
Explain to family and friends that you do not have money to buy gifts. Christmas is not just about giving presents and i'm sure they will understand.
Alternatively why not make them a gift.
Bake them a cake, a handmade card, a photo in a handmade frame etc. |

I suggest you to start saving at least $0.99 everyday (Starting December 26) and you will have enough to buy presents for your entire family and some orphans in 2007 |
