Call them and explain. Just don't promise anything you aren't going to do, because that will just make things happen even faster. |

It just depends. Please call them and see if you can make an arrangement. Sometimes they have seasonal arrangements where you can defer until March or spring. Talk with them and explain your situation. Also ask them about assistance with paying since there are organizations who help with these things. Best of luck. |

Hi,
They should be ok if you are going to pay it tomorrow, as long as it's paid thats all they are worried about. |

Typically, the cutoff date MUST be stated in the letter. My guess is, this is the first warning. If you can pay it within a few days, you shouldn't have anything to worry about. After that, see if there's a payment plan available with the utility in question.
As for other bills in the house, just start going through the house and see where you can save. Can you do shopping in bulk at a Sam's Club type place? Can you get a generic brand of something that will work as well as the brand name? Are you getting the best deals every week and using any saver's cards the stores might have? Take an inventory and see where you can save a few bucks in the house. That's what I had to do when my salary dropped almost in half. (kiss eating out and partying goodbye, and wait for clearance sales on clothes) |

know where you are comming from ...uk probably where were being squeezed to crap for the rich to get richer- my water bills 3 moths overdue and they will cut it off causing me more hardship- I love england but someone needs to do something quick- otherwise there will be riots galore......
When the utility companies are making billions profit and then poor are getting poorer - somthing is wrong in society.
And your question ? dont worry if your going to pay it -immediately is usually 2-6 weeks |

best thing is to ring them up and explain they are usually quite lenient particularly if u say u can pay on a certain date. i had this problem as i was carer for my mum on very low income and had to wait for transfer of funds to be signed by my brother in canada which got lost en route. they hadnt sent a cut off letter but had had 3 reminders. just ring them and explain, if u have young children i dont think they will do it immediately anyway its just to frighten u into paying. if u give them a firm date and stick to it im sure they are ok. how about in future getting a card where u can pay something per week so u have money thats what im going to do im on low budget and just moved into a rented house. or u could do what my daughter does, she has a council flat and they have a meter where u top it up whatever u want £5, 10 a week then when u run out u get £5 emergency. Good luck i can sympathise with u i know what its like on a low budget. |

Call them and let them know that you can make a payment tomorrow. If you haven't been behind a lot before, more than likely they will understand and note that on your account. Good luck |

All you have to do is call up and let them know when you are able to pay them. If you want to save some money, you can call up your tv, internet and telephone carrier....tell them you want to cancel and they will lower your bill! Mine went from 140 to 70 with just a phone call!! Good Luck! |

i would phone the Electricity and Gas company's and tell them the date that you will be paying bills, that will cover you against any action that they may decide to take, but you must pay the bill on the stated date or you will break the agreement with them, then they will cut you off. |
