OK my friend, there are a couple things you can do... The first thing I would recomend doing is getting a Prepaid Credit Card or Prepaid Cash Card.. you can get them at stores like walmart, altho, they will take every penny they can get from you,... I have had the same experience, and found a good website http://www.cashcardreviews.com , most of the cards they have there are free to get, you dont have to pay to get it and they ship it to you for free too, it cost 5$ to reload them and you can do that at stores like that too, but its cheaper than getting the card there cause you dont have to pay the startup fees of 15$. That site also has prepaid cash cards that help establish your credit too, like the euforia mastercard, that one actually has an anual fee and setup fee, but i think its worth it cause you have to re-establish your credit somehow... Once you get your prepaid cash card, you can use that to pay your bills instead of spending gas money to run around town to pay them... Now what happened to you , is you got places in what is called the Chexsystems.... All that means is that you were reported to your credit beuros telling them that you have outstanding checking acount debt, so you need to contact the bank that closed your account, get the negative balance payed, and request that they clear you from the chexsystems... once your out of the chexsystems, you will once again be able to get a checking account. it will be a tuff road ahead, but its definitly doable if you have the knowledge and resouces to do so. Look for a bank that does not pull a Chex Systems report when opening a new account. Or you can call your local banks and ask if any of them offer a second chance account. |

try finding a bank that will allow you to have a secured debit card....
you deposit x amount into aan account and you can withdraw with the debit card only
after a while and you build up a history with the bank they may allow you to have a checking account tied to it as well...

You will have to get a joint account with somebody else- someone you can trust. All they will be is a name on paper. I had the same problem but I was able to get a joint account with my husband. |

It's expensive having bad credit. You need to work on paying off your debts, and living within your means. That's the only way out. I know, not so easy. Things that are worth it never seem to be.
In the meantime, you can go on a cash basis for everything. If you need to send money in the mail or something, you can still get a money order from the post office. |

Hi! I work at a bank and what we do is look at the chexsystems (banks are required to run it on all new accounts) and see what's on there. The manager has some discretion to take the risk to open an account that has a chexsystems record. Otherwise, we offer a product that allows you to open an account if you satisfy a few things...one, you have to prove to us that you have taken care of whatever is on the chexsystems report and take a consumer finance class (it's a short class and sometimes offered free at some locations). Once you show that, we will open your account and give you another chance to build a good history.

odd cause last I knew check systems has a $200 dollar minimum or so, there are other banks that are lax on someone who is in chexfree systems, try US bank as long as you were not doing any funny business with your account they will open up an account, other than that try paying off debt with bank, get them to notify check systems for you! and thats about it... either that or just open a savings account any where, you can google chex systems and find out more |

You may have trouble finding a bank to take you. They have all gone to a reportable system that will keep you from getting an account when something like that accrues. Keep trying, Look at the smaller banks that don't have a lot of branches. They tend not to subscribe to the larger bank reporting list. Keep it for a few years and then you can go to the bigger banks later. Good luck |

you can start by paying off the bank that you owe. it might take 30 days for the payment to clear the banking systems but it'll clear once you pay them what you owe them. |

get a prepaid visa debit card that you can load with money. most places will take a credit card payment in lieu of a check. try the local credit unions. they sometimes don't have the strict rules of major banks. they sometimes just require that you live in the town. |

Stash your money. If you have to pay bills etc. using a credit card. Get a prepaid card at you local check cash store. Keep your money stash either in a safe deposit box or were ever the hell you want to keep it. |
