Because they do not care. They sit up there on their high horse making their triple digit figure incomes and having nothing to worry about and don't give a damn about the people who are actually making them their money. I know how you feel. It sucks, but there is actually not much you can do except get another job or work 2 jobs at one time.
Good Luck to you! |

Get a roommate to help pay the bills. Cut down on the utilities. I'm pretty sure you could save some money by getting rid of the internet! Look at the things you buy. I'm sure there's plenty to be cut. |

Employers pay for the value of your service to them. They aren't a charity. If you need more money, get another job. Get a roommate, find healthy, inexpensive recipes. Cut back on frills until you can afford them. Shop at Good Will. |

A credit card will NOT solve your financial problems, it will only make things worse. Put that thought out of your mind right now if you ever hope to get ahead.
For now - get a better job, or get a roommate to share the cost of living. |

if you live in the u.s. or the UK, then you have to understand that the business world doesn't give a d*m about whether you have enough to live on. They're only interested in keeping their expenses cheap/. They figure too bad if you don't have a trust fund to get money from. It's your problem, not theirs. Your error is thinking they care |

You're not the only one that's dirt poor and works. It's happening all over the country. Everyone I know who USED to make a decent living at their jobs is now struggling to get by and living in debt.
Everything is getting more expensive, and nobody's salary is increasing.
Middle class has been wiped out, now you're either poor, or rich. |

Where I live, you can rent a decent place for a couple hundred bucks a month. Everything else is cheap too. It's not as exciting as serious urban living, but with money saved, I can travel to exciting cities regularly. The fact that it's a college town means there's plenty of culture and diversity (compared to truly rural areas...) So, moving is one option, though that costs too - and you'd leave some friends and family behind. Or consider ditching some expenses to save money. Don't talk on the phone as much and switch to a pay-as-you-go plan from T-mobile (10 cents/min). Switch to the slowest internet connection you can tolerate (or share w/ a neighbor and toss them a couple of bucks.) Buy certain things in bulk (transportation passes, food, etc.) to save money. Turn the heat/AC up or down a little depending on the season. Etc. Etc. And when you're on the internet, consider poking around and educating yourself about some new computer skills that can make you money working from home. Logo design, web page design, consulting... or look into doing phone work from home. Be your own boss and then you can't blame the boss or the government (as much!) good luck. |

Hello,
They do that is why you are no longer making $4 bucks a hour.
Get rid of the computer and/or internet connection. The cable tv, the going out to eat. The entertainment. Start using the public transportation if you have it there. Turn off the lights when not in use. Turn down the heat. Go to the food banks for your food or buy way cheap. You do not want a credit card they just take out the fee's which is giving your money away. No more bought coffee's. If you do drive cut this down to home and work. You may think of getting another job too. You can do it! Many others out here have.
Sorry to say but you are in the big time now. No longer can ask mom or dad for the money for that new toy.
Just think some people have children and making what you do. As for assistance this has been cut off years ago. This has only hurt the people like you, and those poor children as well. |

Sadly, in these days it is cheaper to have a roommate.
Is there not anyone you could room with to save on expenses?
Most small time jobs don't pay much, and as such,
are typically taken by younger people who still live
at home or do not have many responsibilities.
If you are stuck in a rut, you may be able to get a
grant, or some sort of assistance for schooling. Once
you have that behind you, better jobs will come about.
Best of luck |

just pick up another job and turn off your phone in the morning when the creditors call. hold tight till the money comes in.
or you could put your pride aside and shack up with someone who needs to save too. (not me, I'm just sayin') |

Your mistake is assuming employers care about people. Most employers care about everything but the people who work for them. When a worker dies the employer is only worried about who will do the job until a replacement can be found. Haven't you realized, yet, that Big Business will only be happy when every man, woman, and child in the world is working between sixty and eighty hours a week for the minimum wage? Haven't you noticed that while hundreds of thousands of families have lost or are in jeopardy of losing their home the banks made billions of dollars in profits? The cost of living? In the eyes of employers it already costs too much to keep you alive and that, my friend, disrupts their bottom line. |

they dont care most employers treat you like a slave the laziest employees make the most because they are butt kissers |

The sad fact is that employers are more interested in getting the job done, obtain good results at the least possible cost to them. It is not personal but it is business. |

SO it's your employers responsibility to make sure you budget your money properly? If you're not making enough money at your current job, find a better paying one. Go to night school, educate yourself and move on... |

u have missed the point.
it is not the responsiblity of the employer to pay u enough for ur bills .
it is your responsiblity to find work that pays enough for ur bills.
you get paid what your skills are worth in the market place.
translation you sell ur body mind spirit energy time to a business for the highest price u can, they in return buy you for the lowest price u can. Reality bites.
you may have sold urself cheap or u may not have a market value.
surprise , if u don't make enough in one job get TWO jobs or 3.
visit the library to learn what u haven't been taught . |

It is not any employer's responsibility to make sure that you have enough money to pay your bills. It is yours.
If you are not making enough money to make ends meet, then you need to find a way to make more money by getting either a higher paying job or a second job. Or, you need to find a way to reduce your expenses.
A credit card will not solve your problems. In fact, getting a credit card will make things worse because you have pay them back with interest. Be glad that you don't have a credit card right now. |

This is not the job of theemployers. For your living costs are you solely responsible. The employer has no chance to influence it. |
|

TIMOTHY H

Employers don't care about that. If you don't want to work for what they pay someone else will. If you are not able to make ends meet now you sure don't want a credit card, it's just another bill to pay, and once you max it out it will be of no use to you. |

How about a part-time job also? I make decent money, but am still having a hard time, so I do some part-time work..... |

Employers know the cost of living, it's the people who are ignorant that don't. Go back to school and get an education to get a REAL job. |

The responsibility for you having enough income to provide food, rent, and pay bills is YOUR responsibility, NOT an employer's responsibility.
If you are not satisfied with the wage a certain employer is offering you, then Do Not Work for that employer. Go somewhere else.
Many people in your situation are getting more education, more training, etc. so that they can make more money.
( 1 ) Most employers do realize what the cost of living is.
( 2) Most employers realize they are NOT in existence in order to provide employee's with a wage that will provide their food, rent and pay bills.
(3) Most employers realize the purpose of their existence is to make a profit. They offer a wage that will make the most money for them, regardless of whether YOU like that wage or not. If you don't like it, it is NOT the problem of that employer.
Sign me.... "If you don't like working at Walmart, go work somewhere else" |

For employers its all about the bottom line and the fact that they can get away with it. I was like you when I started out. I had to get a second job just to make ends meet. I did that for about a year and half before I got enough job experience to shop myself around for a better paying job.
The day I accepted my new job and gave notice to the one with sucky pay, I bought myself a coffee cup at Starbucks with Van Gogh's Starry Nights on it. I still have that coffee cup 16 years later as it holds meaning for me now. Its awful to go through what you are dealing with now but it really makes you appreciate what you get in the future. Hang in there and Good Luck. |
