So sorry about your situation, go see your local council, try CAB, your local MP and also try The Salvation Army they are very understanding. What about friends and family. I really do hope you get the help you need. Good luck to you... |

You could maybe hit the SSA for a crisis loan if your local DHSS is open for business, they should be able to lend you approx £7 per day for 2 weeks in advance. When I was homeless another way we used to get food was to visit the local Hare Krishna temple. Listen to their songs for a while and they usually feed you. Good food those boys do , but don;t expect a rack of ribs, thsy are vegans. |

You should ask for immediate help from Red Cross.
Then I suggest you later to pile up some raw material(like:flour,
oil, eggs, sugar, honey, dried fruit, jam, etc.) and prepare your own
food -like I do,even if there is no flood here - it's far cheaper and
more practical. |

Shame, sorry to hear your problem! Perhaps you could go through all your belongings and pick out any unwanted clothing, crockery, cookware, even gardening implements which you could advertise as a bundle, or separately on ebay/trademe, etc.?? Or pop a big sign in your local newsagent saying 'Car Boot Sale this Saturday' and give your address and time. Work wise, could you register with a recruitment firm for contract work = either in your own line of work or another. There is always labouring work around, in all seasons. Good luck, hope it works out okay for you! |

If nothing else there are plenty of places to get food. Try dialing #211 to in touch with your local community organizations. Also try your social service department they distribute emergency food stamps to all in need, especially those with no income. Also, each state gives out what they call commodities which are food rations that they give out monthly or so to those in need, but again you need to get in touch with your local community services to find out when and where and what you need to bring. I'm sure with the flood being in your area there are plenty of services around just ask and I am sure you will have dinner on the table in no time. |

If you have no work, sign on. Your local Job Centre will advise about crisis funding, and you may also need that if you have items to replace because of flood damage.
If you belong to a church, they may have organisations like St.Vincent de Paul (Catholic) which could help you out. Also Salvation Army or Red Cross.
As flooding was widespread, has anything local been organised for relief? Ask your local politician or representative what the story is.
Good luck !! |

I'm running out of food as well as I forgot to organise to have my new debit card delivered. I've got plenty of money but no access to it. All of the suggestions I have are illegal, I'm afraid, so I'd better not print them. Good luck. |

Have you thought about working in a fast food place? No joke - there must be lots of people out there in your situation and they don't have kitchens let alone food - and if you work in a food place you get free or at least cheap food! |
