Hi,
just about ANY e-mail from Nigeria (Scam capital of the world!) is likely to be an attempt to get at your money. This one certainly is.
Try telling the sender to take the $850 out of your bequest/winnings.inheritance etc. and to send you a cheque for the rest and see how far you get!

I have had emails similar to this.. report them ignore them and delate them. Any email sent asking for bank details is just a scam to get your money. As soon as you give them your details they will clear your account.
Think logically....no one will send you an email claiming to be giving you money like that.. NOBODY!!!! |

Don't fall for this scam. It is called Nigerian 419 Advance Fee Fraud. 419 is the Nigerian Penal Code for this offense. It is very common and if you communicate with these people, not only will they drain you of thousands of dollars, they will try to convince you to travel to meet them and it could cost you your life. I have included some links in the sources area for your perusal. One way to avoid getting these scam email is to never post your email address at any website that is accessable to everyone such as message boards or guest lists. These scammers go to these websites and harvest these email addresses and one way to tell if they have been there is they will post a message that will include "mugu" or "muguman" or something very similar to that. It's their way to tell other scammers that they have the email addy's and it's like they are marking their territory.
In the future, if you get these email again, forward them to the Federal Trade Commission at SPAM@UCE.GOV. This in turn will be turned over to the proper fraud investigation teams and you will help in the fight against this type of scam. |
