sweetandslick | I do not know where my money is going, I keep spending as soon a I get my pay cheque.? |
I have had enough money over the past 2 years. I am 19 years old and I have just under a thousand pound to my name. I think I need some serious help in controlling my spending habits. Also, I really want to buy my own apartment and my own car, do you think I can really achieve that? Now that it is the new year I really think that I should just put my head dwon and focus on saving and cut out the spending , only for the nesecities in my life. It would be helpful for you all to advise me and point me in the right direction. Thanks. Additional Details I earned 368 pounds a month , but last week i found out i had been overpaid by double the amount. Now I will only get 184 pound. So it is obvious for me to save, I live with my parents also, they said they would help me but I am used to doing things on my own, I like to think of myself as an independent, but tomorrow I will look for another job just to boost my earnings. |

There is a guy here name Dave Ramsey and he says it best:
A person will only start saving when saving is a priority in their life.
SO my advise to you is that you won't stop spending money until you make up in your mind to do it. Our suggestions means nothing until YOU decide to STOP.
And when you decide to make that choice then create a budget which includes 10% to pay yourself and save it (do NOT spend it)

You need to create a budget and stick to it...
Work out how much you earn, and then deduct all necessary bills i.e. mobile phone.
Whatever you have left, deduct a certain amount (60%?) which you will put into a savings account every month.
The rest of your money will be your own to spend as you want... everyone needs some treats once in a while but you need to prioritise, and bills and savings should always come first
If you stick to it, you will be amazed at how quickly you manage to save up for a new car!
I have managed to save £1300 in the last year by using this method and have a mortgage to pay as well.... You will be glad you stuck it out when you have a new car rather than piles of clothes/CDs/DVDs you will never use...
EDIT: You sound very smart.. it's a great idea that you are saving up... I don't know whether you have any bills but you are earning nearly £200 a month at the moment, and if you don't have any bills, that can go a long way, if you spend sensibly! |

I guarantee at least 50% of the money you have spent has been on things you don't need and maybe some things you don't even want. |

Get a second job and put that money into an investment account and forget it's there. Tell the bank you do not want any credit/cash cards. |

You should keep a record of every dime you spend for a month. Then look to see where you can cut out some spending and put it to saving. You should always put savings first in your budget and then your expenses. Pay yourself first. |

Hello Greetings.
Please visit & complete form to view:

Some info about me: www.dannynelson.ws
Most Networking Companies stipulate various sign up fees and lots of hefty spending, to participate in a business opportunity. This is not necessary as you would soon discover. With no selling and buying lots of products/services it is now possible to acquire additional substantial income by simply sharing information with all your friends, associates, leads and family that utilize an email address. Friends, the cost of living keep going up and we need to invest in an alternative business venture that could create more money to cover higher prices of gas, food, utilities and taxes etc.. A dollar gained could be very helpful and it is important that we stop the skeptic and believe God provides with such opportunities if only we work toward our goals and step out in faith.
Global Domains International (GDI), which is in the fields of direct sales and network marketing are debt free and ranks #37 in the top 500 fastest growing companies. This a workable tool for us, alternative options all seem to have very high cost.
With an investment of less than .34 cents a day (that eventually pays for itself and beyond) covers not only your WS "WebSite" domain name, but everything needed to make full use of it. You can use the hosting services, forward your domain to another location, leave it parked with a simple construction screen, or use the simple SiteBuilder tool to help you design a WebSite in minutes. All these options include email services. Offers for domains in several other extensions in addition to our core .ws is also available.
SiteBuilder is their template driven WebSite design interface. It easily allows you to get a WebSite up-and-running in minutes without using special software. Everything is completed from within your Internet browser to a maximum of ten pages.
With the low-entry point and growing number of people needing a website, (for resumes, family/groups photos, bios and business activities etc.) this will be very helpful for anyone trying to create a website without paying those high over-exaggerated prices of web designers. This could keep peoples cost manageable while they start on their quest for additional income towards financial freedom.
Currently there are around 60 million domain names registered globally. Industry experts are predicting that in the next ten years, more than 500 MILLION domain names and web sites will be active annually.
You get 1 gigabyte. However, most WS user WebSites utilizes only a fraction of this available space. Also you can make changes to your site at anytime. Most changes are in place within 15 minutes.
If you have your own HTML pages, you may want to use your hosting option instead of Site Builder. This would be ideal for when your members ‘paste’ their web address to your website! There is no additional fee for doing so. Both options are included in your $10.00 monthly fee for the respective domain.
What I like about this opportunity is the company rewards people for sharing their services and can be paid handsomely with a little effort by utilizing your email list. One can get a piece of this $20 billion dollar per year growing global market/industry, which will include ongoing annual domain renewals AND the web based services utilized with each domain name. It’s quite simple; GDI’s structure is appealing to the International public/market. As you mention it is just as hard to market business opportunities at $1000 investment with something of $10. investment. With a WS "WebSite" you’ve created another income stream. This is further explained in details shown on the above videos link.
Finally you are encouraged to at least give it a try and with some effort and patience one could certainly make more than your investment. Simply make sense. Thank you for taking the time to consider this entrepreneurship option.

Create a full budget...keep reciepts for everythign you spend and enter it into a budget work sheet. You'll find out pretty quick where you money is going.
http://financialplan.about.com/cs/budgeting/l/blbudget.htm
Once you find a where your money is going, find ways to cut out certain things you don't need. Let's say you free up $50 a month...take that $50 and put it in a savings/investment acount each payday before you get the chance to spend it and don't touch it unless it's for the appartment or the car you want. Pay yourself first, then live off the rest of the money. |

MAke a list of everything you buy in one week....you will see where the money is getting wasted...but really...to have nearly a thousand pounds in savings at your age is quite good! I suggest you check out what you are buying and then open an ISA savings account...they are tax free...ask for an appointment at your bank to discuss it.... |

You write down how much you spend from your take home pay per week £400.00
gas £20 per week
electric £20 per week
food £50 per week
spending money £20.
tally it all up and make sacrifices like if you are going to the pub buy the cheapest drink don't drink the dearest like gin and tonic
if you smoke quit it after all its a mugs game every time you buy a packet of cigarettes cost you £4.00 for 20 put the £4.00 in a big jar.do you really need make up of course you don't put that money in a jar, do i need to go to the hairdressers no get a simple style and low maintenance one, do i do the lottery no that's also a mugs game that goes in the jar with the rest. you mention a car well with petrol prices and insurances keep on rising get a moped its cheaper to run, apartment of your own will with mortgages rising and a lifetime commitment. rent a flat from your local authority, okay it wont be your own but you still have a roof over your head. |

As long as you are spending money you have got and not money you have not got (credit cards) I don't see your problem. You are only 19, so enjoy yourself, I didn't buy a house till I was 24 so still a few years left for you, of course try and save but don't turn into a hermit, you can acheive whatever you want if you put your mind to it ! |
