I don't have a checking account, where can I cash a personal check from another person?

You can cash a personal check from the bank that the check is drawn on for no fee. The banks name that it is drawn on is in the lower left hand side of the check. It is called an "on-us" check in banking terms. They will have no problem cashing it because they know whether or not there are funds to cover it, which is why a lot of places won't cash checks. Hope it helps

at the bank the check was made out from

You don't need a checking account to cash a check. You just need ID. Take it to any bank and they will cash it for you. Doesn't have to be the bank on the check.

coastgirl
Go to the bank that is listed on the check where they have their account. You will have to show some ID but they should be able to cash it for you.

dianes98
if possible, take it to the bank it was drawn from. they can check the account and after feeling comfortable that you are the actual payee, will cash it.

if that fails - try signing it over to someone you trust or who trusts you - they can in effect "buy it from" you and cash or deposit through their bank account.

if all else fails you can take it to a check cashing service - little dive shops - but they'll charge a fee.

colorado
Go to local grocery stores like Publix, WinnDixie..I dont know what state you live in ,or you can go to the bank where the person gave you the check ,bring your I.D and they will cash it for you.

sign the back of it and cash it at the bank listed on their check.

well if you live in the south try one of the many ma and pa check cashing places. Other than that the bank that it is from will cash it. besides that ur outa luck.

Kim B
Shouldn't be a problem if you have ID and go to the bank that the check is drafted on.

italiatom
Since you're being so helpful, counter sign the check under thier name on the back and cash it for your friend at your bank then just give her the money.

bx2boca
You should be able to go to the bank of the person who gave you the check, with valid ID and they will cash it..

FMX
Go to bank it's from, will need ID... They will give cash right away... Or go to one of those Payday loans places or small loaning places Even WalMart they cash checks, but you may loose a few %
