1. check his feedback to see if this has happened b4.
2. contact ebay.
3. contact bloke telling him what you're going to do in steps 3 and 4
3. contact the police - this may be an offence under the theft act ie dishonestly retaining a wrongful credit. Suggest you write to the police if you get no joy from the chap.
4. bring a case in the small claims court NB for a debt over £750 you can have him declared bankrupt. |

Contact e-bay - request his details via the advanced search option. There's a few tabs in there that will allow you to get his details. Of course yours will be sent to his however at this point I think you need to contact e-bay.
What did you buy for £850? |

report it to the cops. They actually have there own ebay investigation department. (I'm not joking) |

If you can't contact the other person, then the only course of action you can take is to contact your bank. But do it quickly. |

not much really if you ve tranfered the money there isnt really anyway to trace him if you have a telphone number you might be able to trace him through that, i think.
Ebay can take responsibilty for this too because they are supposed to check out the peeps who sell on their site so contact them too if he is a theif they might be able to refund u. |

Contact e bay, phone your bank to see if they can get it back or get someone to go to visit him. Someone did this on me but it was only for £11. I complained to e bay but the person just stopped trading - I have the address though and I am determined to pay a visit. |

It's not stupid, Ebay is always a matter of trust and any one of us could get burnt. You do however need to contact ebay asap and get down to your bank. Explain and they may still be able to block the payment. You may need to file a formal complaint and wait longer to get that money back but either way you have to get down to your bank and ebay asap. |

Report it to Ebay. Keep copies of all the transaction records, HIS account numbers, etc.
You may have to get an attorney involved... |

You poor stupid thing, why would you do that? Well in a way it is kind of OK because now you have his bank details, so that might help the police to trace him. Unless he has used fraudulent details to open an account, which in that case your b*****d. This should be a lesson to everyone, in a time when your personal details can be used in identity fraud, it pays to be cautious. Sorry for you loss luv, good luck. |

Contact your bank and then eBay to let them know the situation and your concerns. Hopefully this will not be a case of fraud and the seller is just having email problems. It never hurts to be cautious though.
You should always check a seller's feedback before committing to buying from them, especially if it involves big sums of money.
Good luck! I hope everything is ok. |

when you log onto your ebay account it will show you everything you have bought & offer you to leave feedback etc. Under this tab it gives you an option of "item not received" if you click this it will start a process where ebay is involved, I am assuming you paid from your bank via Ebay so they will be your contact & send emails on your behalf.
Contact your bank & tell them what has happened they may be able to put a stop on any futher moneys leaving your account but again if you paid through Ebay then he will not have your bank details only Ebay will know your account number. |

E bay is the best way in which any fraudster can trade. Stay away from it - it's legalised fraud. |
