Believe it or not, I felt the same way this Christmas. I got some new clothes and thought, "Gosh, there are kids in the world who need these more than I do." and just thinking that makes me feel that all of my privileges or worthless, even the laptop I'm using to type this answer right now.
I think the reason you're feeling that way is that you are very compassionate (even if you don't know it). Not a lot of people take into consideration just how blessed we really are, and instead take things for granted.
Use your compassionate feelings - go on a Christmas Eve outreach every year and share some of the holiday pleasures you get to enjoy. Why stop there? There are plenty of options open to you to get out and help other, you can help your mom more with things such as house work, and you could volunteer to help your community ...
Volunteering and outreach really helps one appreciate things a little more. |

It would help to know your age. Is it possible for you to earn a little money on your own? Additionally, why not do some extra things around the house to help your mom. wiithout knowing how your household operates, I am hesitant to suggest anything specific. But, certainly there must be some 'chores' you could volunteer to do. It would make your mom happy and proud. (And, a big hug would help.) |

If you received any money for Christmas instead of stuff, you should buy your parents a thoughtful gift and write a nice note in a card telling them how grateful you are.
Next year, tell them you don't want a lot of stuff. You might still get the stuff, but tell them that you know they love you and they don't need to give you heaps of stuff. Perhaps ask them to make a donation to a charity on your behalf, or pay extra on their mortgage.

ya, I have a Nintendo, Wii, and Gamecube.... I feel spoiled too...... Sooooooo, I'm just trying to control my game playing times and work on StuDyInG more..ya know... It would make parents feel better, definetly.......
WELL, my mom is taking away all of my games until the weekends, and I can ONLY PLAY FOR 1 1/2 (most).

aw well at least u dont act spoiled... if u feel ur mom cant afford to give u that stuff than its normal to feel a little guilty but its not ur fault at all if it was ur moms desision.. maybe u can talk to her about it tell her how it makes u feel.. however if she can afford it and u apreciate it, than i guess ur not spoiled, just furtunate. |

maybe you didn't realize how much you actually had until you took time to think about it. but to make your mom feel better you can thank her for everything she's ever done/got for you. and don't be so hard on yourself..it was the past so start acting more grateful and it will probably help |

Congratulations. You are beginning to realize that getting new stuff doesn't equal happiness. It took me until my 30's to realize that.
You can't hop in the time machine and re-do Christmas, so just realize that from now on. Each time you ask for something or buy something that you don't really need, ask yourself "Will this bring me happiness for more the a few minutes, hours or days?" If not, skip it and save you Mom's and your money for something more important.
Maybe next Christmas, tell your Mom to just get you something small, or maybe you two can take a trip somewhere for a couple of days instead. |

Why not share something with your neighbours across town. I am not talking about your xBox or your other things. I am talking about your time. Volunteer in an area where people are struggling to put food on the table or clothes on their children's backs, and suddenly your lucky place in this world will become clearer. As well you will feel like you made someone else's life better. Two things will happen. You will become more appreciative of what you have and 2, you will enrich the life of someone else. Call your school or local volunteer resource centre. Do it now! |

As long as you feel greatful that you have all of it, then you shouldn't feel that way. Spoiled...is getting everything you want, because you think you deserve everything, and not appreciating it. |

well, get a job during the summer and start paying for your own things. it shows responsibilty and a strong work ethic. and it will make your mom know that your not just a mooching spoiled brat. or if ur unable to work offer to start paying for little itty bitty things on your own, like school supplies and special snacks only you like to eat. |
