Here's the situation. I don't have a checking account I would rather pay the fee that the bank charges to cash my check rather than pay over draft fees(I am bad with money) But i get my check on 11/26 but i was told that it will be dated for 11/28. Is there a way that I can cash this check or am i going to have to wait until 11/28 to cash it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

If you are in USA - 1) what bank is the check drawn from? That financial institution HAS to cash your check (for free) when you provide proper ID (as long as the funds are in the acct to cover the amount. 2) Post dated checks (this sounds like payroll check) do not have as much baring as in the past and is on the "maker" who wrote the check. The bank should be able to honor the check and cash it for you. 3) Most banks have their tellers "settle" out their drawers and after 3 sometimes 4pm will be on the following business date, Thanksgiving being a holiday and most banks are closed the next business day is the 28th. |

At our work if you cash a check before the date on the check you will gave a 35 fee added on to your next check. Many times it will cause the check to bounce because things are so automated these days. |

Well depends where you live, if you live in Canada or the United States you can go to a place called Money Mart they cash post dated checks early and then deposit them when the date comes. There are tons of place like that but it depends where you live. |

Generally the date of a check and the check number are only for book keeping. You should be able to cash your check if you have been using the same check cashing place for a time. Or check out one of the pay day advance things that most check cashing places offer. The cut you a check and you give them your check by the time you say you have to. |

Take it to the same bank that your work or wherever your getting it from has the account and the bank will most likely call the company or person and get the clearence |

If you received a post dated check, you can try to cash it but who ever ends up holding the check (be it you or the bank you give it to in exchange for it's value) will not be paid until the 28th. |

These folks are just plain wrong. I've chatted with my bank about this years ago. They told me it is illegal to post date a check, and if someone gives you a post dated check, you can cash it immediately.
Post dating is playing the float game; banks do not go for that. |

Maybe a shady check cashing place would do it, or a cashier who's not paying attention. They aren't supposed to though.
We also get our checks on Wednesday, but with a Friday date because the business is closed. |
