I know this doesn't help you out but I don't understand. You have to pay to be incarcerated?
What state does this? |

I would check with the local social service center. They should know who you would need to speak to. I have never heard of anyone having to pay the jails/juvenile system for a family member to be locked up. If this is a mandatory lock up I am not sure they are suppose to be charging you to begin with. If you voluntarly had him locked up the people at social services should be able to let you know of any programs that can help. You may also visit your state's government's website to see if they have any laws/provisions on this matter. |

Sorry I never heard of such a thing. I think you are stuck with the

13 years old? He must have done something awful. You should have sent his *** to boot camp! Surley the state could help out, they pay for a ton of loser crack mom's having babies on welfare, i'd think they could do something for you. |

I am not really sure about this question, you may want to rephrase it! It seems like you are paying for your kids to be in jail? Not sure why anyone would do that, unless they did not want to deal with their parental obligations. |

Sorry, I don't have an answer for you, but I'm just really curious...why is your 13 year old son in jail? |

Did you have him put there? My parents did that to my brother as a scare tactic when he was on the wrong track , it worked too. They had him there for 6 months and had to pay because it wasn't a court issued decision. If you had him there, I don't think there's any help. If the state did it, there should be help, contact the county social services. Good for you if it works, scare them young, then we won't have to deal with so many rapists, murderers and all around bad people. |

Depending on what state you live in they can actually go after your son when he reaches 18 years old for this bill. Until then he is technically your responsiblity and can go after you for the money. The will also garnish your wages if you stop paying. Any type of assistance for this I have never heard of any. Good Luck! |

unfortunatly his debt is your responsiblity until he turns 18. Even after he turns 18 you will still be responsible for his debts incured before turning 18. And like any debt you can not pay it will effect your credit history.
I've not heard of the jail problem but one of my friends child got a credit card in his name even though he was only 15 and her and her husband even though they didn't sign anything were responible for the charges |

You should the taxpayers be stuck with the costs involved in raising your child just because you apparently failed at it? If you don't pay it, it should go on your credit report. And I don't imagine there would be any assitance out there. The whole reason states are making parents liable for costs now is because they can no longer afford it. |
