You have $250. Why not invest that in a cash term deposit at your bank? Then it will earn interest and you'll have it at a later date when you really want something. In a few months, your tastes and interests might have changed dramatically.
Don't just spend it because it's there. That's like eating everything in the fridge because it's there. You feel lousy because you overeat. The next day, you go hungry, and you regret your actions.
SAVE IT. Save it for at least 3 months in a term deposit. By then, you'll have decided yourself what you want. You might not even want to spend it by then.
$250 would buy my groceries for over a month. If you don't have much, that's a lot of money. Think about that before you spend it. Will what you buy be worth $250 in a years' time? Will you get enough pleasure out of your purchase to warrant spending the money?
If you keep saving til you get $1000, you can invest in a managed or mutual fund. Then, your money will get great returns, and in a few years, it may even have doubled. Then you could buy some really fun stuff, not just cheap stuff. How great would that be?
I still have the first hundred I ever saved. It was part of my house deposit. From that hundred dollars, I bought my own house. Think about it.

Why do you feel that you have to spend it? There's nothing wrong with saving because someday you will be asking how to make $250 (or more, or less). If you dont know what you want or need, then don't part with it. We all have emotional purchases we've made and then regretted. Don't make that mistake. |

Honestly, if somehow i got $250 for nothing, i would buy a really good pair of shoes.
You may laugh, but you have no idea because we all buy cheap shoes all the time, because we do not want to pay more than a lot for them.
A great pair of shoes costs you like $250.00, so you all say no and get the $50 and less ones, but your feet are cool too.

Why do you have to spend it, apparently there is nothing you need badly or there would be no need to ask. Just save it and add to it when you can. One day you will find you really want something and you will have the money to get it. Money doesn`t spoil or get moldy or have an expiration date. |
