Here are a few things I could use...
- Maaco ($400) Paint job for my camaro.
- I need a paint job because of paint cracks in hood and roof.
- Samsung Behold phone ($400)
- I don't own a camera or a good camera phone, but I do own motorola razor phone.
-Car Speakers ($500)
-My car has 2/5 speakers that work. Even out of the two that I have, one of them has pretty bad quality.
- .308 rifle ($500+)
-I already have a .22, but it lacks power and is not fit for hunting.
- Video games, new shoes and clothes, ipod car stereo adapter ($300)
-Just some random stuff that would be nice to have because my shoes are pretty worn and haven't bought new clothes in over a year.
-Laptop ($500)
I have a computer desktop at my house everyone shares. It is pretty old and can't run any games on it, but I have a playstation 3 for games too.
Any other suggestions are welcome too. |

Good shopping list. Heck, why stop at just spending $500? Get a few credit cards like everyone else in the country and buy everything you listed. Then, in a few years, realize that you can't pay everything you charged back like what is occuring today.
Seriously, do something with the $500 that will give you a long-term pleasure besides spending it immediately--save it or invest it. Or, if you have any current credit card debt, use the money to pay that off. |

I'd get the paint job for your car, because it's a big investment you have--your car. Keep it looking good, in case you need to sell it, for example.
Then, with the other $100, save about 1/3 of it and use the other 2/3 for the new shoes & clothes. You are also an investment! Invest in yourself, like your appearance, and that will help you to earn more money in the future, and look better for your interpersonal relationships! |

I wouldnt spend any money on your car(speakers or paint) because that car doesnt sound new, and if its old enough, it could at any time have some major issues, and then your money would be wasted on a car that you are going to get rid of or sell.
You have a phone, why upgrade? A phone is just a phone.
I don't ge the rifle. Youve got one that kills animals, do you need a fancier one? To kill them quicker?
Laptop could be nice, since there are some good deals out there. BUt only get it if you REALLY need it.
I think you should go with the random stuff one. But only buy stuff you need. And first, if you have any credit card debt/loans, just go ahead and put the $500 on those balances. The world is too bad out there right now spending $500 on something you dont really need, when you want anything you are paying interest on to be paid for ASAP!!!

When I have extra cash lying around, I try to save up a bit more and then buy something bigger. Save up another $500 and buy a shelf model huge flatscreen thats what I did with my stimulus check.
The more expensive something is, the less likely it is you'll ever get it in the future if you don't get it now when you've got the chance. Save a bit more and get a flatscreen.
I'll probably get a few thumbs down for this philosophy but it makes more sense than a credit card. |

Laptop sounds good =) That's just me... But, if you buy one see what Black Friday has to offer you may can spend even less than that. Do you have a Micro Center in your area? Some places have laptops for $250 day after Thanksgiving. If you shop for new shoes and so on and so forth, go Black Friday... You will save tremendously.

for that i'd say a paint job witha little extra like rims or something or new tires. if not that a laptop with extra programs or games and mabey even an itunes card. or just a few things like clothes games i tunes cards a cheeper phone or a new i pod. |

Car- paint it.
The car is important because it has a title and is the only thing on the list of things you have worth investing in.
If you buy speakers instead of paint it- it will rust out and be worth nothing. Just learn to sing in your car!
Then take 50 bucks and go to a consignment store, thrift store, or a sale for shoes.
Save the remaining 50.
New laptops, phones, and entertainment crap
will be dirt cheap after xmas. put it on your list for someone else to buy!
(I personally would forget electronics and have dinner with interesting people. Pot luck of course- it is cheaper) |

Put away $300 of it in a high yield savings account....spend the rest on the random stuff: new shoes video games.
p.s. you dont NEED a paint job, you WANT one....the thing that matters about the car is that it runs. |

a laptop would be your best investment - all the other items are not needed. a pair of shoes would be better to start off with. why don't you just SAVE your money? |
