Tuna noodle casserole is very inexpensive to make. You could easily make enough of it to feed your family for under $10.
Meatloaf is relatively inexpensive to make if you use ground chuck. You can almost always find hamburger meat on sale, and you can mix in bread crumbs or oatmeal, which doesn't cost a lot either.
Vegetable soup isn't too expensive either, although it can be a bit time consuming to make. Potatoes are always on sale somewhere, and you can use canned peas and carrots. If you make your vegetable soup with beef, just look for a sale on beef roast. Chuck roast is usually the least expensive.
Spaghetti is another popular meal, especially with kids. It doesn't have to be expensive unless you insist on buying the expensive brands of noodles and sauce.
Another way to bring down the cost of meals is to buy the store brand. They usually taste just as good as the national brands (Star Kist, Campbell's, Green Giant, etc), and the price is often substantially lower. |

You need to stock your pantry with a lot of staple foods like beans, rice, pasta... These are all cheap and there's soooo many different ways to fix them. A crock pot is an excellent investment too. With just a little bit of ground meat or a few pieces of chicken, you can make a lot of casseroles and things. I hope this helps you, I've been there before! |

TACO POCKETS-
make taco filling-if you dont have your own recipe for it just get the mix that u can get @ the store (add onions to it if u like them). Get a couple of cans of biscuits(whatever kind is your fovorite)....squish them out so that they are thinner & a bigger circle. add taco mixture...top with cheese of choice and another squished buscuit. Seal the edges and cook in oven @ the temp & time on the biscuit can. Quick..Easy..Tasty |

Any meat houses in your area ? My sister has a freezer
that will hold a whole cow (450.00) but it feeds her
family of 7 thru six months.
It is hard to eat healthy and don't be afraid to go try and apply for food stamps. Groceries are going to go up higher |

I shop for my family at Aldi, their food is good quality and cheep. I can buy 2 weeks worth of food for about $60 at Aldi. Also try going to angel food ministry website to see if it is available in your area. Lastly you can just get a bag of brown beans and cook with smoked sausage and spoon over rice, that goes a long way and it's really good. Oh, also we eat potato soup, it's cheep, easy and goes a long way too. Email me if you want my recipe, I promise your kids will love it! cookies_three@yahoo.com |

We have 4 teenage children and we buy groceries like rice, beans, pasta and we try to find meat on sale and we will buy quite alot and rewrap with freezer paper. Also on one day on the weekend I will cook a big batch of lasagna or enchiladas, chili, ect and freeze several to take out at different times when we are busy. The main thing is to prepare your own food. When you buy the ready made it gets quite expensive. Good luck. |
