*What Goes Around Comes Around | I have a major problem.....? |
My friend needs like $500-$1000 or he is going to lose his car. How can I get the money? I was thinking about pulling it out of the bank, but I am 16 so I dont know if I can. Anyways I need to get it some how, any ideas? |

If your 16 you probably shouldn't be paying for your friends car. Now with that said, if you have a bank account, getting access to your funds will depend on how your account is set up. Did your parents set it up for your? If so they may be the only ones able to access the money till you turn 18.
If not then go to the bank, fill out a withdraw slip and take the money.
However, I feel,Your friend needs to talk to his parents first and see if they can help front him the money and he can always get a job and pay them back.
OR
You want to have your friend pay what he can towards the past due amount to show an effort at payment. Then contact the bank and see if he can defer the remaining amount and this months payment.
What this means is they push his loan back adding on another month, so you'll have an extra payment added on to the end of the loan, but it prevents him from showing 30 days late on his credit report.
Some banks charge customers to defer a payment, not all do. Just call have your friend call his bank be 100% honest and if they are any good they will work with him..
If not, just remember they are going by a contract he signed and legally they dont have to bugde. However 99% of banks will.
Good luck to your friend. |

It's nice that you want to help a friend but this is not the way to do it. Let him borrow from a relative or deal with bank. If you give him the money, I can guarantee you 2 things, (1) you'll never get the money back (2) he will no longer be a friend. It's better to be safe now than sorry later. |

A 16 year old cosigner?? Come On...........
You dont have a major problem.
Your friend does.
Stopping him from losing his car might make you feel like you're doing a good thing by your friend, but maybe he NEEDS to lose his car. Maybe if he did things differently he wouldn't be in the position of having to bum 1k off a 16 yr old friend.
If you do take it out of your bank and give it to him, you need to do so with the understanding that you may NEVER get it back. IF you're ok with that than go for it...........if not, DON'T. |

You of all people. Your name is What goes around comes around. If i were you I would say " man you know im there for you but i dont have that kind of cash" and dont make yourself Financially bad in the long run it will be worse for you. Why cant he take it out of the bank. where are his parents? your 16! you shouldn't be put in that situation and no one should put someone in that situation. |

Don't ever loan friends money. Not only will you not get it back, you will no longer be friends. If your friend is not willing or able to repay a bank which holds his financial future in its hands, what makes you think he will be willing or able to repay you? You have everything to lose with nothing to gain. |

Why are you helping your freind. Advice to your freind would be to call the lender and tell them the situation. If you give them a heads up, they should be able to help or work with you.

If you loan him the money, it could cost you your friend and $1,000. I have lent money to friends 4 times in my life and only 1 ever paid me back. It cost me 2 friends and several thousand dollars.
Odds are very high your friend won't pay you back. Now whenever a friend asks me for money, I never loan it to them I give it to them. If I don't have it then the answer is no, that way if they don't repay I still have my firend. I will never borrow money to lend it to a friend. |

No, you don't have a major problem, your friend does. Why do YOU need to get it somehow? I thought you said it was your friend's car, not yours. HE needs to get it somehow - and sounds like he's decided you are the "somehow".
Unless you are willing to just give this friend your money, don't lend it to him either since there's a real good chance you won't get it back. I know, I know, he's your friend, and wouldn't cheat you. And he probably wouldn't mean to. But also probably wouldn't have the money, since he'd need it for something else......
You're trying to be nice, I know, and help out a friend. But he has to figure out how to solve his own problems - you're just looking for trouble if you find the money and lend it to him. |

I know of a website where you get a loan for money, what you are doing is borrowing from other people:
http://www.prosper.com also make sure that you come up with a good story to help get the money, you see what I mean when you go to the website. |

Ask you parents or do something like selling cookies, washing cars, you know, things, If you're good at doing something then do like magic tricks and begin asking for money, sell something! A laptop, tv, something! |
