Family and friends.
I would never borrow money for Christmas. The presents are not important, spending time with your loved ones is what Christmas is all about.
Contact your local Salvation Army, and other charitable companies, and sign up for their services. If they feel you really cannot afford to buy christmas for your children, they might help you out by donating gifts to the children. |

Right now, it is very hard to get a loan with bad credit because of economy. The best thing, you should try to save the money as soon as possible. Maybe you will be able to have $200 so you can buy presents for your children. It should be good enough. Tell your family that you will not be able to buy the presents for them so they WILL understand. Best of Luck! |

Try regifting items you haven't used that you got prior as long as you don't end up giving that to the person you got it from or they recognize it when you give it otherwise. I also would check places like the goodwill stores as they can have cheaper priced items. There are not any places I know of that are giving loans in general now due to the recession state of this country at this time. I would make some gifts if able to with what you have on hand or to give gift tags or notes saying they are entitled to a hug,a massage, a backrub, help with dishes, laundry ,etc. if you just can't go out and buy any material items now. |

Don't borrow it. I'd work over time or get a night job for a short period of time.
To be honest, Christmas isn't about gifts. Its about giving to others. Try doing Christmas differently this year. Instead of giving the children lots of toys and things that will be broken in 6 months, try teaching them a lesson and principles that will stay with them for a life time. If they are small, work with them to give away working toys that they don't play with any longer. If they are 9 years and older, take them to a homeless shelter and volunteer.
Teaching them the joy of giving will balance out the joy of receiving. It will also help them to understand and appreciate the blessings that they have. |

Don't "Borrow" for Christmas. Borrowing when people can't afford it is why our economy is in such bad shape and why people are really hurting financially. Do what I did when I didn't have enough money for presents. I donated plasma twice a week for about 3 weeks and earned about $160.00 for some really great food and some small gifts like $20 gift cards to Walmart, Sears, etc.. My Dad saved up his Sears gift cards and was able to buy a power tool after Christmas, a birthday, and Fathers Day. We all know how tight things are and we really can have a lot of joy without all the presents. Just love and appreciate people this Christmas.

If you're struggling to make extra money you should go on that survey vault website everyone is talking about, I'm actually using it to pay for my family's Xmas gifts this year - maybe you should consider it too.
its really useful, especially now the global recession is really starting to kick in. (and they're saying its likely going to last for 5 years)
