From the little information you have given, it sounds like a scam. He bought something for a small amount, say $40, but sent you a check for $4000. He wants you to refund the difference. Problem is, his check is phony. |

Just ignore them. Block their emails. If they have your phone number and are calling you a lot, change your number. They will go away eventually. They're trying to scare you into giving them money. It's what they do for a living and they'll try anything that works to get you to give them money.
I hope that if you negotiated the check and it was returned that you did not spend the money or send it to them. I assume you didn't since they are threatening you. You can take the returned check and report it to the police. There's probably not much more they can do for you but at least there will be a record of it.

THE CHECK IS NO GOOD!!! They want you to send them a refund right away before you see the check won't clear. Even if the bank says its OK, don't believe it. I have made a game out of these scams. I have rentals on Craigs list and these jerks send me checks for 10K and want a refund beyond the rent and deposit. Just ignore them. I'm trying to see how many checks I can get and how many from the same guy. I told one fool that the check had gotten wet and would he send another. He did and I said sorry the place is rented. They spend money sending it by UPS or FedX because its illegal to mail it from the post office. Just keep playing him so he wastes more money. Report the threat thru your email provider, Yahoo or Hotmail. If you read the note it isn't even the correct punctuation. |

If you've deposited the money order you're most likely the victim of a scam as it probably won't clear.
I would guess you're the victim of a scam of some sort. |
