I have checked my bank balance?
I have just checked my account online and after doing some sums, i have found that I am going to struggle for Xmas.
Does anyone have any fairly cheap Xmas present ideas for the last few people I have to buy for (My Stepmum, stepdad, future mother in law, sister, and aunt & uncle)

I can spend about £10.00 per person

We're really skint this year. For some people instead of buying presents I've made them a Christmas cake and some shortbread biscuits and wrapped it up nicely in a giftbox for them. I did some last year and they love it because I made it for them, rather than ran to the garage on the way to their house on Christmas Eve for a box of chocs or whatever!

You are a very sensible girl.

10 pounds per person is fine, Christmas is NOT about money. Check out Argos as well, if there is one near you.

People appreciate the thought that's put into a present, not the value.

Buy them 2007 diaries. The Pound Shops have really nice ones so that you will have some change for wrapping paper and bows. Hope you have a very merry Christmas and a Great New Year.

Little gardening pots with cute tiny shovels and seeds to make an herb garden indoors. Cansisters of various beans to make a hearty soup, very decorative and not a lot of money when you buy all the beans and spices and make little spice bags to pack. Get a nice glass container for them to show off the beans. Be creative! It really is the thought that counts, I think 10 pounds converts to roughly $20 in the US, you could buy something for that here. Good for you for not living beyond your means.

Go to Walmart and look in the fragrance aisle. Consider buying a one ounce fragrance (good variety including Giorgio, Obsession, Curious, White Diamonds, etc.) for men and women. They range in price from $6 to $12. Every one loves and could use a fragrance.

Well, first off.....don't worry if you can only spend £10, it really IS the thought that counts. One time, my Mum and Dad were really struggling and couldn't afford much for my birthday - it's right after Christmas, and Mum was out of work. Anyway, she made me a load of mix tapes of her fave songs and mine, and songs associated with happy memories. I still treasure them now - a lot of love went into those tapes.

Anyway, have you checked out the local supermarkets? They all have their own very reasonable gift range - my local Tesco's and Sainsbury's both have an excellent range. For example I bought someone a mini USB lava lamp in Sainsbury's - only cost £3.50!

Or, try Boots - they run a '3 for 2' offer on gift products, meaning you get the cheapest item for free. If you go to Boots, do get a clubcard from them - it's the most generous clubcard there is and you build up points very quickly.

Hope this helps - and that you all have a great Christmas!

That's not a bad amount of money to spend on each person, what about a bottle of wine or a cheap bottle of spirits that you can get from asda for under a tenner, or if you look at asda Morrison's or tesco you'll see DVDs or CD Box sets for less than 10quid, or even go to the pound shop... As one person said its not the amount but the thought that goes into each gift, find out what they like and spend accordingly.
Merry Christmas :-)

Scented candles, aromatherapy burner and oils, chocolate liqueurs, £10 of lottery tickets, a big bag of onions. OK I was joking about the onions!

What about a nice cd, book or some smellies? Look out for 3 for the price of 2 deals in shops and try to save some dosh that way. No point breaking the bank if you can't afford to plus it's the thought that counts! Happy Christmas :)

Josi
I think that one of the best gifts you can give for Christmas on a budget are gift certificates to the movie theater. Everyone loves them! Tickets where I live are $7. I purchase a $10 gift card and it leaves them w/ enough for a popcorn.
If you give them (a whole family) the gift cards in a Christmas card, it makes the gift seem so well thought out!
Good luck!
Happy Holidays!

Dont Panic, here is a new idea. Give them all an IOU but before you do that fake an illness and stay in your bed for at least 5 days.
Or tell them you are going to wait until the january sales to get them something better.
