A deposit on house sounds good as you may not get this much money again withouht having to save. But also make sure you treat yourself take £500 out of it to go on a shopping spree. You will feel so much better afterwards. |

house deposit is a good idea but only if you can afford the repayments and other expenses. I'd have a £1,000 shopping splurge, holiday, whatever and then invest the rest in a tax-free ISA. Get some financial advice.
I know it's boring to invest it but as it's unexpected money then you should have some fun with it, but also put aside some for when you really need it. You may not have this chance again.
Happy shopping. |

Surgery or deposit on the house, depending on how urgent and medically necessary the surgery is. Don't waste your money on a shopping spree! |

Deposit on house. Owning your own place will be more rewarding and a better investment than the other two options.
It is very cool to be able to pick out your own paint colours and curtains. |

No brainer. Deposit on a house. |

Deposit on a house, unless you feel you need surgery |

Get the house. It's the only thing which will continue to give back.
Shopping Spree. Old too soon.
Surgery. Typically more harm than good.
Seek the true wealth and investment.

How did you come into money? I desperatley need some. You should invest it. I wish I would have been better at saving and investing then I would not be in the mess that I am. |

Did you considered Charity? Is always better than just wasting in surgey or a shopping spree |

Out of the three options - Deposit on a house, definitely.
Surgery will not last.
A massive shopping spree will only keep you temporarily satisfied and you will buy things that you do not need.
Deposit is a good investment and will help sort you for life. |

Put it away in a long term investment.
To give you an example, if I had taken the $1,000 dollars I spent on a vacation 15 years ago and put it into the stock of the company I took the vacation with, it would now be worth
$20,000. |

You could give it to me. If not a deposit on a house. |

Pay off high interest credit card bills. Save a couple of hundred in cash for emergencies. Spend a little on yourself for fun or improvement of the house, etc. The rest in a safe investment type stock or mutual fund.
If you need surgery, shouldn't insurance handle most of that?
Down payment for a house is always a good investment and you can see your money at work and walk on it. |

Spend a bit of it on a shopping spree then buy a couple of shares so you can have a bit of money every month and then you can sell them and become rich |
|

rainbowrocker3
|
invest in shares or put in bank.
although, i am more of a saving person that a spending person so this is way i am saying this.
A shopping spree could be good - buy something for yourself and family?
buy treats for your kids?
no, not surgery - unless its completely vital that you do have to. |
