Read books. Read Jim Cramer's "Sane Investing in an Insane World"
-He doesn't tell you what to invest in, but he helps you to figure out how you can make your own investing decisions. Its worth it to wait until you know what you're doing.
The only other option is to find a very qualified individual to help you. How can you trust them or know who's good and who's not? Learn enough so that you know when to disagree and get your money back. There are books that can help you. Read the best recommended. |

Take a portion of it and have some fun, ie 2-3000
with the rest invest with something that will give you returns. Get advice with shares, or if you have a stable job, buy property. Even if you can only afford something cheap it will appreciate and you will always gain money.

If you put this money into an IRA or 401K account now, you will have well over 1 million by the time you retire. Compund interest is amazing! Plus, once you start working and make normal contributions you will be more than set for retirement, even at an earlier age if you do it right! |

have some fun and spend a little on yourself. put the rest towards your college education. if you don't plan on going to college right away, invest. at least invest in a short term c.d.(just go to your bank and ask how to do it) that gives you more interest than a regular bank account. you can find one that doesn't penalize you for early withdrawals |

put it into an interest bearing savings account and some into a cd (certificate of deposit), and leave it there, do not touch it until you need it (college, car, ect) and maybe keep about 2K or less for spending so you don't feel like you're giving it away

I wish that were my case, but you should probably invest or put it in a retirement fund so you'll have fun cash when you're no longer working. Put it away for your kid's college fund or something. Or travel before you go to college! Lucky! Have fun!
