You could send a letter to the director of the hospital and explain your situation, if that doesn't work, you could call a debt counselor who will help you pay it off in about 4 to 5 years and in payments that you can afford. Call someone like debt free and I am sure they will be happy to help you! Good luck!
Hun, would you all please answer my Q? Thanks much

I have never heard of any help for medical bills.Thats the number 1 reason for bankruptcy!!It's sad we already had bill clinton in there 8 yrs and he promised good health care for everyone. No one seems to be taking it seriously including bush.
All you might be able to do is call and set up payments?only thing I know of im sorry. |

I assume this is a hospital bill. Contact the business office for directions to look for help. Most hospitals have money that they need to write off because of the money that they get from the feds. I have seen "medical negotiators" on the internet, but I am not sure how legitimate they are. I have also heard that if they stop billing you for a year, you don't have to pay. Good luck!! |

Make arrangements to pay a small amount each month on the bill. Even if it's only $10. Most times they will write off the bill after you have paid for a year or so on it. Just call them and tell them you have no insurance and will send what you can each month. Make sure you call, because if you don't call and don't pay they will put you into a collection agency! |

Try talking to the billing department first to see what kind of arrangements can be made. They can work with you to possibly lower the cost and set up a payment plan. |

Have you tried asking for help from the state? DSHS, Department of Social Health Services. I suggest you find their website. If you are low or no income they can help you. |

Contact the creditors and attempt to work out a payment schedule you can live with. |

Call those hospitals where you have the bills. They can reduce them down for you. They give better rates to insurance companies than they do individuals. But if you call them and explain your situation most of them will work with you. I got some of my dad's bills written off completely just by calling the hospital billing department. I explained he was on Social Security and just couldn't afford thousands of dollars in medical bills. I got many reduced as well. |

Call local churches. They can often guide you towards the right direction. If you have a regular church, you can talk to their offices and bring your medical bills. Show them, and ask if they can help.
Local groups are your best bet, as locally, neighbors look our for others!
Good luck & be sure to keep your bills on hand to show those willing to help! |

Look up the local United Way chapter in your area. They can help you out with a bunch of stuff. Also there are different welfare programs in each city that you might be able to check out too. Good luck! |
