If the old bills are not all wrinkled and messy, they are worth a little more than face value, so don't just spend them at the mall, but I doubt you're gonna get rich from them either.
If they are silver certificates, they'll be worth even more. |

Have at least two reputable dealer appraise them.
As long as there is a US government, they
will be worth their face value. They may or may
not be worth more. It depends on rarity,
condition and current demand. |

you should take them to a coin shop and cash them in for alot of money...then spend it on all of your trendy stuff. That way you can buy way more of that stuff instead of the small amount a department store will give you for it. |

It is legal tender - even though it may say "silver certificate" on it. The mall should take them, although they might be confused (a bank will always take them).
Depending on the condition - they may or may not be worth much.
best way to tell is to check on ebay and coin dealers. So many safe deposit boxes get opened up with scads of this old money, so it's not really that rare, but you could have something that is. |
