If it is only a letter, one will do it. The cost of stamps all depends on the weight of the envelope. If it is heavier than normal, 2 will be fine. But if you are still not sure. Go to your local post office, and have them weigh it for you. |

It's not the number of stamps, it's the number ON the stamps. You need a total of 39 cents in postage to send a one-ounce letter anywhere in the US, and you can combine any number of stamps to pay the 39 cents. Each additional ounce costs 24 cents, so you're donating 15 cents to the post office if you use two 39-cent stamps for a letter between one and two ounces. |
