if you know where you purchased the item, what date, time, which register, ask the manager for a printout of the transaction. they can do it, but I dont think it is valid to use the
reprinted receipt to send for rebate. another proof, is the UPC of the item. |

if you used your credit card the store should be able to look it up |

No, that is your proof of when, and where you purchased something. |

It all depends if you paid cash or credit card obviously it seems as though you paid with cash and in that case no. But if with card then get a bank statement reflecting the charge. |

Did you use a credit card? Go back to the store and take the item and ask for a duplicate. |

had this happen at circuit city. It's a mess. but if you can remember what day, approx time, and the register you checked out at, they can look it up in the system. Most places either have register tape that they are required to keep for an auditor for at least three years in the store that have a record of all the transactions of the day. Or they have a computer system with a back up disk with all the transactions. Good luck. |

If you paid by credit card then you have a record of what you bought and where.
If its cash then you are screwed
If you paid by interac then its hit and miss. |

Depends on where you bought the item. If you bought it online, usually the online store leaves a receipt in the form of email or in your history section under your account. |
|

I say this and that
|
Go back to the store and see if they can track it by the UPC code on the box |

Sometimes you can cut the bar code off the packaging and use that as proof of purchase |
