Good guy
I lost my job a few weeks ago and can't find another in my field, savings are running out, what should I do?
There's manual labor jobs, but their pay are peanuts compared to what I used to earn. I'm thinking of moving back to my parents' house, am I a failure?

I've come back home too and don't feel like a loser. Sometimes some events are so bad that we can do just nothing. And thank God we've got a shelter at our parent's home.

Get a manual labour job. If you need income, you need a job.

I have 2 degrees and I choose to work in a factory. Big deal. I can live quite comfortably on what I earn.

If your ego is preventing you from getting a job, you have a serious problem. You'd rather move back home to your parents than do what it takes to be an independent person? THAT makes you a failure, not being unemployed.

Apply for a manual labour job. It's actually quite a good environment. I spend ALL DAY chatting to friends while I work, listening to the radio, and doing a job an eight year old could do. Sure, I get paid minimum wage, but for no stress, its' worth it.

Best wishes

maybe you should look in a different field

look for something out of your field.. change can be good, you might like it.. or at least you'll enjoy not being broke.

Conserve your savings and try to find another job of some sort. Even starting with a crappy job allows you some income until you find a job in your field. Try some career websites for job listings. (ex. MonsterJobs).

Times are hard everywhere right now. I work with a man who used to be in management that said he was making 3 times what he is now. A job earning less is better than no job at all.I would rather work 2 lesser paying jobs than to move back home with my parents.

definitely not a failure! you could get a manual job, or move back to your parents house temporarily if you think you'll be able to get a job in a matter of months. if your field is very important to you, you can look into relocating. you should get a job at some point over the next year and if staying at your parents should get a part time job to help with expenses while you are highly active looking for a solution some how. start your own business. accept family help a few months but don't be a moocher. it's not good for you and doesn't look good. my sister hooked up w guy who w 4 or 5 years of university, was a pizza delivery guy, temporarily. now, is back to regular job.

"Pay is peanuts compared to what I used to earn..." But it is more than you are making now, right? You are not a failure. You need to get a job - any job. You just need something to pay the bills until you find a job in your field. Cut back on your lifestyle spending. You are not above some menial job. It is better to do bs work and make crappy pay than to do nothing at all and go home to mommy.

Good luck job hunting!

Life is not a beach.
Bite the bullet.
Take ANY employment, cause you are not any different from all the millions of others who need income.
Be independent, and dont live off your folks.
Get some experience of life.
Travel.
Your American, right?
Thought so

u r not a failure, u just need to try something else out for now until your field of work is needed again. good luck

The same is about to happen to me, I work as a federal crime prosecutor, but due to bad back probs I have been unable to work for some time. My office is looking to "retire" me, (can't blame them). When you work out what to do, let me know. 'Cause I have sole care and control of two children and I'm getting pretty scared.

BY THE WAY...YOU ARE NOT A FAILURE.

Yeah I would go back to my parent house....its so homey + you get feed = ]
