This is kind of a dumb question. First of all the tax people don't care if you are middle class or not. You figure out what you owe based on what you earn and what you can deduct. If you think that over $100,000 per year might be lower class, you are really out of touch. |

There is no point in knowing this for tax purposes. There is no established income level for lower, middle or upper class. Politicians throw around those terms and say "I'll lower taxes for the ____ class," but they are full of sh*t. If you make $400 per day, that's over $100,000 per year; you certainly would not be considered lower class.
Actually, income has little to do with a person's social class. According to marketing folks, social class is more determined by your attitudes, education and behavior. For example, if a factory worker won $1 million in the lottery, he/she would not jump to a higher social class because they still have the same opinions, attitudes and so forth. |
