Work your butt off and don't spend anymore money on stupid stuff. Only pay for taxes, rent, and food (and gas if you have to but take the bus). I'm sure you can get there if you focus.

The government wont pay your bills for you. So get a job. Stop spending.

1. Sell everything you don't need on ebay. When your sorting through things you don't need, if you have to ask yourself if you need it - YOU DON'T - just sell it. I make a lot of money on ebay selling old clothing to purchase new ones.
2. Have a yard sale.
3. Call a debt company to make all your payments into one payment- they can lower your interest rate as well.
4. SAVE SAVE!
Ask yourself before you buy- do i need this or just want it?
5. Pack a lunch at work, don't purchase.

Better get to work!! Cut back on expenses, and get a second, or maybe even a third job.

I had a similar issue and I enrolled in a debt consolidation program. They charge a low fee ($5.00) per month, and they negotiate with your creditors to get you lower interest rates. They also make all the payments for you. You just pay them once a month and then you don't have to worry about paying each bill. It has really helped me because I don't have to feel anxious about it, and I know I am saving a ton of money in interest. It affects your credit but not that much. It affects your credit more to have all that debt. They can give you your own personalized budget and debt management plan. I am on track to be debt free in two years. You can find plenty of companies online that would be glad to help you!

The type of debt you have and any assets will dictate how to handle this situation.

Unsecured debt, such as credit cards and personal loans without collateral, can be cleaned up by working with a good credit counselor. They can negotiate with your creditors to wipe out late fees, over limit charges and even lower or waive interest fees. Here is one, but there are many others if you Google "credit counseling" or "debt consolidation"

http://www.trinitycreditservices.com/?gclid=CLDM5LCyrpUCFQKaFQod0DW5Yw

If you have property or collateral assigned to your debt, you could try calling the finance companies to see if there would be a way for you to pay down your principal amounts (i.e. making an extra payment each month).

If you own a home and have any equity, you could attempt to gain a home equity loan to pay down high-interest debt. The home equity loan interest rate is bound to be lower than unsecured interest rates.

Student loan "relief" programs have emerged for some careers; depending on what you do for a living, you may be entitled to debt reduction or forgiveness.

If all else fails, you may want to approach one or more family members for a loan. Should your family be unable to loan you any money, then could consider a second job or selling high-ticket items such as designer items, jewelry or collectables if you have any. Gold jewelry is being bought at some of the highest prices currently, so taking gold jewelry to a local jewelry will certainly get you quick cash. The higher the karat, the more cash you'll get.

If you take a second job, make sure you work somewhere that will not tempt you to spend your earnings. For example, if your debt is credit card debt for buying too many shoes, don't get a night job at a shoe store. Another plus of a second job, if you get a job where you can get items you need (versus items you want) at a discount, that can save you money as well. Getting a second job at a food store for discounted groceries is a good option. Kmart, Walmart and other discount chains would allow you to purchase clothing, household items and food at a reduced price.

I hope this information has been helpful and I wish you luck in getting your debt under control.

try cutting ur debt in 1/2 1st thats an easier goal to achieve..u can get outta debt in 2 yrs(remember it takes time) 1/2 ur debt= $12,000, so if u can put away $250 per week, thats $1,000 a month and in 12 months 1/2 ur debt is erased..mess with it see how much u can actually put away after rent/mortgage, bills...etc but def put money aside...if all else fails...ive done it b4 try a credit card counseling service(greenpath is a non-profit organization that offers free advice) they will work with ur creditors to bring ur credit card debt down...chk out the link below...gd luck!!

Grants to pay your bills do not exist.

Government grants are generally for educational or new businesses, not for people like us struggling to get out of debt. See if you qualify for the Earned Income Credit and sometimes you can take it early but in the long run, that won't help that much.

Take everyone's advice and sell as much stuff as you can on ebay or yard sales. Selling your car is a great idea too if you can work that out - maybe downsize to a cheaper more efficient car. Credit Counseling programs companies are great but generally you still need to be able to pay the minimum balance due (or close to it) but you'll increase your credit score and they'll handle fees and interest reductions for you.

If you need cash instantly, you need to go to the bank or borrow from friends/family. As easy as it is to spend, it's triple as hard to get out from that same spending.

Slowly pay it off each month. There really isn't any easy way to get $24,000 unless you win the lottery.

Dave Ramsey is a financial adviser who can help you get out of debt with planning and working that plan. It includes something called debt snowballing where you take your smallest debt and pay it off first, then take the money you would have paid on it to the next lowest debt and pay it off and so on until you have gotten out of debt. At the same time you are paying off debt you are saving money. You really should check out Dave Ramsey!

Have a garage sale. Have a bake sale. Go to a warehouse such as Sam's Club or Costco or something like that and get the bundles of candy bars and have some kids go around and sell them you can get like 20 extra bucks per box
