I'd suggest not going. How would your friend feel if he knew you'd got into debt over this? Far better to set aside some time, light a candle and look at some photos, 'talk' to him and drink a toast to his memory, then go for a long walk in the country to decide how you will spend the rest of YOUR life.
And if you insist on going, maybe ask yourself who you are doing it for... |

going to a pals funeral costing that kind of money is daft.
i know people who couldnt go when it was their mum or dads.
asking on here sounds like you are begging. funerals happen within a week normally so no way could you get money together in time - legally.

Start fundraising, with another friend that wants to go aswell, do charity runs, sponsord silences etc... make sure you make it clear that you are raising the money so you can pay tribute to a past away friend though. Good Luck. |

Your friend won't mind you not going he would understand if you can't afford to go. He will be happy for you to pray for him, go to Church and light him a candle. Pray for his soul, that is all he needs, honest my dad passed away and many members of my family and I could not go (not financially) but by doing this I was able to find comfort and I am sure they found grace and light. That is all they need. Love and Prayers |
