They don't exist.

If you need a basic account with no credit checks try the following.

Natwest... Step Account with solo debit card.
HSBC..... basic with solo card.
Lloyds TSB... basic with Visa Electron.
Abbey... basic with Visa Electron.

CO - OP Cashminder, they even take on bankrupts with this account, you get a current account and a visa cashcard, go to their web site, get the phone number an phone em, be sure to inform them of your status, and state you want no credit on the account.

Princess
I think most banks have very basic accounts which will do what you need, and don't run credit checks, but you need to ask for them specifically because they will not offer it to you otherwise- have a look at this link, on the Moneysavingexpert site...

The cheque cashing places like The Money Shop do a Titanium card which is like a Mastercard. Its for people who had really bad credit ratings and they don't do credit checks. The only problem with this card is that they charge for taking out money and also a £4 fee every month. You top up the card at post offices or at the Money Shop when you need to or you can have your wages put straight into it and pay Direct Debits out of it.

It is exactly like a bank account, just with monthly and withdrawl fees.

Go into any high street bank and ask for a Basic Bank Account. You will need the two standard pieces of ID like your passport and driving licence.

This will give you a cash card, no overdraft facility.

It is a legal requirement for banks to provide this service.

Hiding from debtors, however, is not a good idea. See if you can talk to the Citizens advice bureau...its free.

Basic bank accounts are your best bet. All banks have got to provise them. They tend to have no overdraft facility and a really poor card (eg Solo card) but at least they are a start

hall_ra
You could try a Nationwide building society account. Basically a savings account, but comes with an ATM card attached.

With regard to the debts, you might be better off talking to the creditors than hiding from them. Hiding makes matters worse and means they'll be less likely to work with you to get the debt restructured or even written off or removed from your file.

One of the reasons that people are checked with Experian etc... is tracing debtors anf fraud prevention. Even if You apply for Basic Bank Account - You may be credit checked. Even if Your credit scoring is extremely low - they will open Your account. That's the difference between Basic acc and Current account. Please note that details of Your basic account and how You operate account may be passed to Credit Reference Agencies, eg. HSBC basic account.
Try prepaid debit/credit cards. Your employer can send Your salary to some of these cards, so it is quite useful.

sorry! the law has changed , even to off shore banking, big brother is watching you, all money movement now has to go via the tax office hence the creditors have access to where and who is where upon application to them via your social security number and tax identifier
