I'm 14 and let me tell you, I am in the deepest trouble with my parents. Long story short I forgot (i have bad memory problems) to tell my mum I was not doing sport and she drove to my school and she was stuck in 1 + 1/2 hrs of traffic when she could have visited my sick Grandad in Hospital.
I have to pay them for petrol and they also don't know.....
I was doing my history and used a permanent marker on my work and it went through to my desk and as it's permanent I can't get it off (if you can suggest a way to i would be massively grate full!).
I need money to pay for petrol and a new desk which will cost around £200-£250.
I am so upset as I wanted that money for jeans but I deserve it!
I have £90 at the moment and petrol wil be about £20 so £70 at the moment.
I can't babysit anyone but I need some really good jobs ( i don't have a bike for paper round!)
all help is deeply appreciated!!!!!!!

Why not just clean up the desk? permanent does not mean it won't come off, try nail polish remover and cotton wool, rub softly at first then hard. If that won't work (it should) then try using vinegar, as this has acid in it and is good for cleaning.
Your mum would not of used £20 worth of petrol, especially if stuck in traffic. She is probably more upset than anything else, why not buy her some chocolates and flowers and apologise to her, it will mean a whole heap more than giving her £20 for petrol :)
The table is there to be used for work, so should expect some marks on it. I have a teenage daughter and I think your parents are being a little hard on you, if making you pay for the petrol and the desk. |

I don't know if you'll like this advise, but here it goes: why don't you try to speak honestly with your parents about this situation. They might enjoy your attitude and let you of the hook, or at least work something out with you. Maybe you can pay for the petrol and damages doing household shores or something. Good luck. |

geez! it sounds like an accident to me if i was your mum i wouldn't be that upset. it's just a desk try dry eraser liquid or if you desk is wood use wood cleaner.
about the gas if they really are making you pay for the gas they used ask them to make if you can make payments. that way you don't have to spend all your money. you can save some for jeans and some for the gas. man your parents suck! i'm a mother and i'm strict but not that bad.

right why don't you just beg & plead to your parents that your sorry,it was honest mistake..im sure you can do jobs for them round the house,eg make them cups of tea,or coffee,tidy the house,cut the grass etc to expect you to pay for Petrol aswell desk considering your 14 is bit steep!!i find it unfair,
i wish i could help you...you can tidy my room for me,its tip lol..i will give you £25!
you need to stage a protest,refuse to pay..they can't do anything!yep you may get grounded,but will be worth it rather than paying for which you don't have the money! |

Make your own way back from school one day when your Mum would ordinarily have to pick you up. Then she'll save the petrol money that she spent and you'll be quits.
You can always sand and revarnish the desk. |

try cheap hairspray, normally the cheaper the better because it has more alcohol in. its worked when i smudged ink on my dining table and my mum didn't find out because i use hairspray.
just spray hairspray on to the ink and rub it with kitchen roll or tissues. |

Oh dear.. you sound as batty as me!! lol..
Have you maybe got a loal newsagent, as sometimes they emply people for Saturday/Sunday work.. it's involves early mornings.. but it'll be worth it to get that paid back!
While I'm here, I'd also suggest you say to your Mum abut the permanent marker, being a Mother, she'll have an answer for everything like that! But if you try scrubbing with soapy hot water, with a dishes sponge (and alot of elbow grease!).. it should come off !
And ask your Mum to lay off you about the petrol.. it seems a little unfair.. She should really be more concerned about your Grandad, than money!!

if i was you, i would take the money thats left and buy something that i could sell at school, or get all the History students over the weekend and ask them if any of them need help with their history, if you get at least 10 you then tell them that you charge 20 for two classes one in the morning one in the evening. that might work, or offer help on any of the subjects that you know well.

At 14 there isn't much you can do in the way of a proper job. You can do a paper round without a bike - in fact if you have a big paper round you'd find it extremely hard to ride a bike and carry the papers (I did a massive paper round myself so I know). It would help you get some money - bigger the round the more you should get. Besides that, do jobs for people you know. Gardening, for example. |
